Why my aquarium filter is making bubbles?
Hello
I have a new 20 gal aquarium, which I bought as a complete kit. I’m setting it up for three days, the pH is OK, also the nitrite and nitrate, the ammonia was a little high so I treated the water and now is better.
My problem is the filter, is a Top Fin 30 filter (that came with the kit), and it’s making a lot of bubbles at the top of the water as the water falls down into the tank again. I don’t know if this is normal!!! does any one has the same problem?
Also I have a little cloudinesss in the water, can you give me some advice?
And my final question is how can I refill the evaporation water? I can’t treat 1 gal of water with the water conditioner to add into the aquarium, because I can’t messure it in little amounts! any advise!
I’m a new in this aquarium thing, so don’t be rude, if you don’t have anything nice to say, please don’t say anything
Thank you very much in advance for your help!

well to be honest some filters have a bubble setting to add oxygen to the water, and you shouldn’t remove evaporated water you should be doing water changes and removing the water before it evaporates. so a 25% of water every month thats what i do but if you over stock your tank then it will have to be more. the cloudiness will go after a few days its a new tank. and make sure before you add ornaments or gravel you wash it it may chemicals on it.
Maybe it’s the water level in the tank? The water enters through the filter and creates a “falls”, thus the bubbles. Sure you can condition one gal. at a time. As for the cloudiness, it should go away after a while.
yes the air bubbles are normal, and if your using carbon in your filter the cloudiness will go away after running for awhile (if your not using carbon i would suggest it)
~you can add water to the evaporated water that came out of the tank i would just add the water conditioner (just a small amount no need to measure) to it and you’ll be fine you can also get away without the conditioner if its just a small amount of water your adding.
enjoy! =)
e-mail me if you have any other questions
The bubbles might just mean that there is a lot of oxygen in the water. It is fine
The tank is cloudy, because the tank is cycling. It will clear up in a little bit when the bacteria grows.
Don’t you have measuring spoons? If you can’t\don’t get one the only other way is to just put in a couple of drops. Hope I helped!
