Why is my betta fish freaking out and swimming like crazy?

My betta will be doing fine and all of a sudden I’ll hear all the stones/pebbles at the bottom of his tank clanking like mad, and when I look over hes swimming like crazy, and hitting up against the pebbles. And basically just like spazzing out for 5 seconds. It only lasts a few seconds and hes back to just swimming normally.
What is going on? And what can I do so that he stops and is okay?
THANK YOU

he may sense danger,storm,(cat)
he seems fine like any animal or person hes probably bored and is playing or exercising get another beta fish make sure they get along and then hell probably stop.
did you move a mirror (or something reflective) close to it? maybe that’s why?
he is probably just happy but i would put some stress treatment like stress zyme in the tank and turn the lights off. if he keeps at it, then he is most likely just playing around but if he stops he is probably stressed so just make sure you turn the lights off at night and feed and make sure your water levels are ok, hope this helped
Is there an environmental trigger that causes this, maybe a bright light or a loud noise. Try moving him to a different room, if he stops having spaz attacks, then you should be fine, if he doesn’t, it could be a mental condition or some hormone imbalance. Try to also change his water regularly.
Beta fish are really mean fish. They’ll attack the tank if you put a mirror in front of it. I’m just guessing it’s a really hyper fish and is just doing what it would normally do if it weren’t in your tank.
Well, it kind of sounds like you just have a really energetic fish. Betas, when properly cared for, can have a TON of energy. He might have seen something outside his tank like a bug or flash of light and tried to chase it. I play with my betas; they chase laser pointers lol.
he sounds bored but hes probley fine, if he is scrapping his body on the gravel though he might be itching from a disease like Ich, if so, i would raise the tempurature of the water to at least 80,
check out this betta fish linc, the author is a bit arrogant, but the Pics a spectacular

is this happening when you turn the lights on. because fishes goes crazy when they were in dark room and you turn the lights on suddenly. this is normal if this is what you are experiencing. they will also rub their body against objects if they have disease called ich or ick which is very easy to cure.
