Why do my Fire Bellied Toads keep making water cloudy over night?
I Just got a 10 gallon tank w/ a hood. In it I have 2 fire bellied toads. its about 1/2 water 1/2 land. Their is about 2.5 gallons of water, a drift wood form petco to separate land from water, medium sized gravel and a couple of live plants. There is also a tetra in tank filter.
Every night the water gets really cloudy to where you can barely see into it. I did have a feeder fish in it but it died when the water turned cloudy.
I took everything out and washed it and the same thing happened. I added the recommended amount of water conditioner and bacteria supplement each time.
Any Ideas?

it is probably the toads crapping in the water
they shed their skin more than likly my african clawed frogs do it too. you need a filter double that of your water per gallon ratio. it sucks. or any filter would be good.
Is the driftwood real or fake?
Was it precured when you bought it?
The driftwood leeches tannins into the water which will stain in the color of tea and cause it to reek a bit. So if the driftwood is real remove it from the tank, scrub it with a clean brush, and soak it in a bucket for about two weeks. This will cut down, but not eliminate the discoloration of your water.
~Please do not add fish into the water portion of your tank. A single feeder goldfish requires 55 gallons to be healthy, and fire bellied toads are toxic.
~Remove it. That type of wood does poorly in aquatic conditions. Try mopani driftwood.
