Why Are My Tiger Barbs Dying?

My girlfriend and i purchased an aquarium starter kit this past weekend. It is a ten gallon tank with a basic carbon filter. We added some rocks to the tank from the pet store. In addition we added a few decorations plus a live plant suggested to us by the pet store. We used the conditioner as well as a stress coat and stress enzyme provided with the kit into the water as well as a small bit of ammonia remover ( 1 mL). When we purchased the fish we let them float in the bag for 30 minutes as the pet store instructed us to aclimate them to the water and then poured them in. We started off with three. Slowly they have been dying one by one, we thought maybe they were sick or we did something wrong with the water. So we tested for nitrate, nitrite, chlorine, hardness, ph and alkilinity. Everything seemed time temp of tank is about 78 f. When that checked out we concluded based upon some fungus and abnormal coloring (one was dull and had some fungus on his nose. That they were sick and needed help. We gave them a fungus tablet treatment in their water following the directions perfectly.. They’re still dying. we’re new at aquariums and he tried what we could.
