What species of fish swim in banks?
by Aquaboy on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 | 2 Comments
I’m gonna get a larger aquarium, and was planning on putting in some species that swim in banks. Any help much appreciated and if u could put links with pictures, even better
Btw, i’m not looking for big fish, i’d much prefer smaller and very colourful fish and active. Thank u ![]()
P.S.: the aquarium won’t be with salty water, so no marine species cuz i can’t keep those
I just googled them. We don’t have them in my country (glo-fish)
) We have the original species only.

I don’t know if these swim in banks but if you want colourfull fish go for glo-fish. They are VERY pretty! They are quite small and hence their name, glow
Banks? interesting….
this makes me think of “catfish”.
i’ve seen salmon swim along river banks.
for tropical fish tanks i cant think of anything else but a cat fish.
there are some neat catfish. most get huge and grow fast. there are some that are dwarf, and or smaller in size staying within 10″.
they are not as colorful as you most likely prefer but a lot of them have interesting patterns and shapes.
i’ve never seen one just chill in a “bank” all the time. most scurry around the bottom and hide in any space available.
ill throw in a couple of links for you to check out.
the first one is one i just picked up. he is a neat looking guy, but seems to stay in the shadows with aperiances in the background of my aquarium until feeding time he comes right out with the others.
