What kind of pet do you recommend for a 20 or 40 gallon aquarium? OPEN TO ALL ANSWERS. 10 pts WILL be awarded?

I have a 20 gallon aquarium and i might be able to get a 40 gallon. I also have carefresh bedding and hamster food and many hamster supplies. I want to get a pet that can fit in a 20 gallon aquarium and possibly a pet that can use the bedding and hamster supplies. I was thinking about dwarf hamsters or guinea pigs or maybe even some kind of crab. I have done some research so I do not think a rat would be a suitable choice. I will research whatever animals you recommend, i just need somewhere to start. I do not want a Syrian because I have already have had a Teddy Bear Hamster. I also do not want a pet that would be more expensive than a rat. I am open to any recommendations.
Thank you for your time. :-]
Your answers are greatly appreciated.
Also if you have time please explain why you recommended that pet. If not just give me a suggestion.
already have hermit crabs and gecko

Mammals shouldn’t live in glass tanks. The ammonia from their urine builds up in there because of inadequate ventilation and causes respiratory problems. Reptiles can live in them, as can things like crabs, but not mammals. Guinea Pigs also need a whole lot more space than that, the miminum cage size for a single guinea pig is 30″ by 36″, which is a lot bigger than a 20 or 40 gallon tank.

I would look into reptiles. Anoles are a good, inexpensive beginner’s reptile, as are corn snakes. Hermit crabs would also be a good choice for a tank environment.

well hermit crabs, a 20 gallon is huge! so that’s a lot of room for hermit crabs. and don’t get me started for a 40 gallon. so with that much space u can get a whole colony for hermit crabs. a good rule to go by is 1 hermit crab per gallon. u can use grounded up coconut shell eco fiber, and have plastic trees stumps and stuff like that u can find a walmarts and pet stores. and u can get a hutch. this theme is there natural environment. or u can do there other environment which is the beach theme. they only are around this type of area when they breed. so the tree theme is more what they are used to. so the beach theme is sand, many shells, and lost of sea sponges. great pets and i am going to get some to, they are cool, and neat to have.

I think it would be very interesting if you grew an underwater plant aquarium! One of my friends had thee coolest rooms i have ever seen because he had this colorful, flowing, and beautiful underwater aquarium. Use real plants! You can get them from petsmart! Now the picture i am providing you only has some plants but go wild! put as many different colors as you can! and different kinds but make sure that they belong in the same kind of water!
