What kind of fish can survive in brackish water?

Well i have 4 Corydora Catfishes, 1 Pictus Catfish and a Common Plecostomus. Can any of these fish survive in brackish water? Cause i am thinking about turning my freshwater aquarium into a brackish water aquarium. If i do, i’m not going to add too much salt, so it will be more like just slightly brackish. And does anyone know of any brackish fish species?

Puffer fish? I’m not sure the others can, especially the Catfish and a Common Plecostomus…
sharks?
Monodactylus argenteus
Dwarf puffers, just don’t put two in the same tank!
mollies some puffers
They all will survive if they grow up in it. Go get a Datnoid. Best fish out there.
Try talapia….they do well.
The type of fish your looking at keeping will not do well in slightly brackish it has to is or isn’t if you go that way the current stock won’t go well in that water, so desicion time im afraid.
Archer fish
Puffer fish, Arrowhead, Fahaka, Figure of eight, Dwarf
Scats
Fan Dancer goby
Mono’s
Orange chromide Cichlid
are some im sure theres a few more.

From my own research, I know that corys are NOT very tolerant of brackish ph. I don’t think the others are either. They need hard alkaline water. Although its not a fish, I read that mini red claw crabs actually thrive in brackish water. That could be fun. If you don’t want that, I know that Bettas and Mollies do well with a little freshwater salt. Good luck!
NO no no, dwarf puffers are 100% freshwater. Now eight figure puffer ( that i own ) is brackish water fun fish to watch that would be good choice
None of the fish you mentioned can live in a brackish environment.
All Livebearers can live in a brackish environment.
All the other brackish species I know of grow very large except for some Puffers and Gobies.

corys are very salt intolerant — i wouldn’t try keeping them in anything more that 1 tablespoon salt per 5 gallons — and add that gradually. 2 tablespoons per 5 gallons kills them outright. you should be able to keep more fish in a 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons mix.
Most catfish aren’t salt tolerant which rules out every listed. (Pleco are catfish) The most common brackish fish you’ll find are the live bearers. Molly, and guppy can live in salt water if the change is slow. Platy, and swordtail are good in brackish waters. Some goby, and puffers as well. Of course there are freshwater puffers, and saltwater gobies.
