Marimo Moss Balls are actually a very non-invasive algae that control their own bouyancy and grow fast enough to use up nitrate and phosphate at a reasonable pace.  Unfortunately, many pet stores like Petco have begun to sell rolled up Java Moss as &quot;moss balls&quot;.  Plecos will eat Marimo Moss Balls, but will generally leave Java Moss untouched.  These are both safe for fish.</description>
