What do I do with my unwanted goldfish?

I have a severely overcrowded fish tank (13 goldfish in a 10 gallon) I’ve been trying very hard to either get rid of fish or trade big fish for small fish the fish count used to be 16 now it’s 13 but idk what to do. I don’t want to kill them or flush them down the toilet or leave them in a lake, river. no one wants them everyone who did traded or took my fish. I really don’t know what to do there is no one at school, parks, ponds, who want them. I can’t get a bigger or second tank.

please don’t bother answering if all you’re going to give me is a lecture on responsibility. I was little I had no clue what I was doing or how many fish I could keep I figured as long as they fit and could swim they were happy. now at 15 I know what I;m dong but it;s too late I need a way out not for my sake but for the fish

A pet store might take them back , we took fish that grew to big back and they took them and gave us some store credit.

Leaving them in a lake or river is illegal. Flushing/killing them is just wrong.

Try to find someone with a goldfish pond. Or a school with a pond where you can donate them.

Well you can either blow them up, flush them, or sell them.

    Hello,,,
You could try and put them for free or for sale on ad sites like http://www.gumtree.com.au
    http://www.petnet.com.au
or putting notices up to community notice boards.
    Good luck!

You could try to sell them or try to give it back to the pet store. Or if someone wants them, give it to them.

Any pet store will take them gladly. Some might pay you a few pennies for them. But goldfish around here are like 8 cents a pop. So maybe not. But I know places like petco will take them for free. Or some human society’s will too. :D

Try http://www.freecycle.com. People will take all sorts of useless crap, so I’m sure they’d take some cute little goldfish.

You might be able to get rid of them on this website, plus find a lot more information about proper goldfish care from kind and educated people:

    http://www.kokosgoldfish.com

If you gave them back to the store, they’d probably be used as feeders, so please try other option first.
