Cories are very social, and do poorly if there are less than 3 of them… Such a small tank doesn’t offer enough room for a shoal of Cories, and a lone Cory would be miserable… I would NOT recommend it. Neons are schooling fish, and without the protection of a school, will become VERY stressed, likely to the point that they are easily overcome by infection. Also, Neons are quite sensitive, and any change in such a small tank will be enough to kill them… The only other things I’d recommend for that tank would be a couple shrimp or snails (not Mystery Snails– they get WAY too large).

Betta fish need to be by themselves. They are not community fish. They are aggressive and need their space. Most likely, the Betta will end up attacking the other fish and will die.

Well, if you ask like there is this pet store called Pet People, they sell those fish there. If you ask there, they will give you all the information you need or want to know.

In your current tank you are unable to keep any other fish with your betta. It will be too overstocked with even one more fish. If you invest in a larger tank (ten or fifteen gallons), cory cats would be fantastic; they make great tank mates for bettas, I’ve heard of very few bettas that ever bother them. You’ll need at least three cories, as they like to school.

Neons are an option, again you’ll need a larger tank, but your betta may eat them. He may not. Usually, they do eat a fish that small. It depends on the indvidual betta, as they’re all different. Remember though, neons also like to school.

i have a betta in a two gallon with three female bettas and i frog and a bottom feeder.i moved the frog and the bttom feeder only because i have another two gallon tank with a gold fish and some gupys and want a bettas only bowl but when i go to clean the tank or the bowl i put them all together and they do just fine.it depens on the temper of your betta. the only way i know of to find out what you can put with it is to get another tank with some other fish you like(ones you can’t put in with betta) and then get some fish you think would be good with the betta and mix and match untill you find one or a few you put with the betta.
