What can I do to help heal my betta?
I bought a male betta about a month or so ago. The cup he was living it was filthy with hardly any water in it, and even though his pectoral fins were frayed and there was a hole in his tail, I wanted to give him a chance. I’ve been maintaining his tank since – partial water changes weekly, using a gentle filter, keeping the temperature in the upper 70s, and he’s now an active fish with a cute personality. However, the state of his fins have not really improved.
Can I do anything to help him? Will adding a bit of aquarium salt help? Should I add any medication?
Also, tonight – and I’m still not sure how this happened – I found that he has a wound on his head. It’s about the size of his eyes. Again, I want to do anything I can to help treat him. He’s my fighter, and I don’t want to give up on him.
Any suggestions would be wonderful!
I don’t know if this matters, but here’s the wound on his head: http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s230/tysoner/IMG_0288.jpg
