that is illegal. evn thout the water isnt owned by any country, in thwe act that stated this it also states that it is illegal for anyone to take these creatures outta their natural hamitats unless u ave lik,e a fishin liscence (for like pike and stuff, NOT even the saltwater fishys lol)
Where do you live? Rules vary by location, usually hand collecting with a net or slurp gun is legal as long as you get the appropriate fishing permit and are not fishing in a preserve. You’ll just have to look into the regs for your area.
You will have to mimic natural environmental conditions, esp temp.
EDIT- It *is* legal in most states, as long as it is for personal use and not for sale or export. I know many people in Florida who collect hihats, seahorses, blennies and other fish and many corals for aquarium use. Every area is different.
Rent a wet suit and all the gear and use a net. Just make sure they are all compatible. Good Luck
If your not a certified diver, you could use a cast net. Check out your local bait and tackle shop for one. Very difficult to use but if you can get the hang of it a cast net would be perfect.
ARE you NUTZZZZ…. unless you have a licence to collect live fishes from the ocean I would not suggest it!!! Have you been watching Finding NEMO???? or what???? so I would say go to your local pet shop and buy like everyone else!!! and by the way??? is your live rock bought or stolen from the sea????
I have to go with rick k on this one. A pet shop is most likely your best bet. It has the additional bonus of telling you what fish are and are not compatible with each other. For example, the leather jackets you are referring to can grow to 12inches with larger specimens recorded, so you must consider the size of your tank. Additionally, leather jackets are quite aggressive feeders. You would probably be safe with them and puffer fish, but you should consider very carefully anything else you might want to add, unless you just like to watch them eat.
Use a throwing net
