The water in my aquarium was to hot from the heater and my goldfish got scars and burns on his side. Do you think the burns will go away? Is there any way to help him heal?

goldfish do best without a heater take it out!
put in stress coat and follow the directions on the bottle and they should be fine in a week or so.
EDIT
they usualy recover from it goldfish are surprisingly hardy fish
goldfish are coldwater fish
why do you have a heater in there omg…………
make sure you don’t have a reptile heater top in place of a regular fish tank top. you can boil the fish to death (just ask my wife) make sure the tank is not in direct sunlight. It’s hard to say if it will recover or not.
Your fish didn’t get burnt on the heater your fish is suffering from ammonia burns. This is caused by a spike in the ammonia which will then turn black. It will heal but you need to keep your tank on a 25% weekly water change with gravel vac.
No need to add more stress coat here and DO NOT add salt. Help him by sticking to weekly water changes and testing the water. They should heal in a week or so.
ADDED: Fancy Goldfish can have heaters. They prefer the water around 78 degrees. Heaters set at a lower temperature ensures that the water temperatures do not drop below let’s say 65. Although goldies are one of the few fish that can go from 55 to 100 degrees from night to day with little to no harm. Pond fish are subject to this every day which is why goldfish are such hearty creatures.
