We have started a new 10 gallon aquarium and for the past hour we’ve been “just rinsing” it. We even put in all flat on a net in the shower and let water run through it for about 30 minutes but the water is still blue!!! Is it o.k if we use some sort of soap to wash with the gravel? If so, what kind????
Also- I’m a college student so theres not tooo many things available to me at this moment lol

I washed it before with the water spray, and it cleans it. How many times can I do this? I need to change the water for the fish today, and I ran out of filters. Nearest pet shop is like 1/2 hour away.

I am using a Whisper PF-20 filter in my 20 gallon tank. At the aquarium store, the guy told me to just throw the filter in the dishwasher and then I could still use it for months, just washing it once a month. I washed it, but I’m worried about putting it back in the tank. Does this method work? I know detergent kills fish, so I re-rinsed it to make sure all the soap was out.
