White Spots In Corners Of Tropical Fish Tank…?

Hi, my boyfriend has recently set up a tropical fish tank at home. His Dad keeps fish and he has read up on how to start out, and has followed all the rules etc. He put some small fish in after a couple of days and they are doing well, however we’ve just noticed white dots covering all four corners of the aquarium from top to bottom. The fish, water, plants etc are all absolutely fine, but it does look like there’s mould in each corner. Searching the internet just brings up information on Ick which I don’t think this is as it’s not on the fish.
Any ideas?!

What Type Of Fish To Add To Start Off A 180litre (40gallon) Tropical Tank?

I started my 180litre tank running a few weeks ago, added stuff what I bought to encourage the bacteria to grow, added some oxygenating plants and added water from my smaller tropical tank when I did water changes on them… It’s finally ready for fish so I’ve got two mollies in there for the time being and what to add a couple of other fish in a week or two’s time and start building up a nice aquarium,
any suggestions as to what kind of fish would survive well in this sized tank? and how many of them? what kind of algae eaters would be good to keep the algae down?

I Am Setting Up A 15 Gallon Tropical Aquarium. What Can I Realistically And Humanely Keep In It?

Its a 15 gallon (54 litre tank). Ive done lots of research but a lot is conflicting due to compatibility, water hardness, ph levels etc.
Ideally I would love to have bottom feeders such as corydoras catfish (minimum of four to five) and 3 male guppies. I do not want females. People advise tetra, but I am not so keen on them and obviously i could do with some middle shoaling fish.
Can anyone suggest a combination of the two above with something else or perhaps 1 or 2 other species of fish or an entirely different combination all together given the size of the tank?
What if i did have tetras, what ratio and numbers would be best?
Many thanks!

Tiny Particles In New Tropical Aquarium And Fish Are Dying?

I setup a new tropical aquarium around 3 weeks ago. It Juwel 800 capacity of 110 litres. I added Tatra Aqua Safe when i added the water and also Tetra AquaStart. During this 3 weeks period i have changed around 20 % of water about 4 times. 2 days ago i took water sample to a pet store they said its not 100% perfact but you can add fishes. I added 2 Swordtails and 5 Guppies and also some amount of Api Stress Zyme. I found one Guppie dead the next day morning and noticed another one is mostly at the water surface or near the filter.
Next day i introduced fish in my tank i have noticed alot of tiny particles, from a distance water looks very clear but as you gets close its not the same. First day i added the fish i left the lights on for around 10 hours. Any idea what is the reason for tiny particles and the fish died and others are behaving strange.
PH and GH values are high, KH is 20d, Nitrite is 25 and Nitrate is 1. I used Tetra 6 in 1 test kit to test the water.
Any suggestions that what is going wrong as i am new to this and have no past experience of fish keeping.
Regards

Tropical Fish Interaction Question ?

I have a 5 gallon aquarium with one sunset platy. I would like Nother fish, but I also know that do to the small size, I must be very discerning about what, if anything, I choose to add. I am not a fan of invertabrates for the most part, so shrimp and snails are out.i was thinking an average, run of the mill betta fish. I know they can be very tempermental/territorial, but my tank is well planted, and I have had some sucess in the past keeping bettas with other docile fish ( corydoras, neon tetras, Priscilla tetras, a khuli loach etc).
So what do you think ? Will a betta and a platy get along ?

How Do I Transfer My Tropical Fish To A New Clean Tank?

I have had a wall mounted aquarium set up for around 7-8 months now with all the same community fish, but have had enough of it being very difficult to clean and maintain. I just bought a standard aquarium sufficient for my fish and have had it cycling with clean water and a new filter for 2 days now. The levels are exactly the same as in PH and temperature etc. and there are no traces of ammonia or harmful levels nitrate or nitrite. Just wanted to know the best way of establishing the aquarium? Is it ok to just float the fish (9 in total) one by one all in one go or would I have to float 2 guppies for example and leave them settle for a few days to help with the stability of the filter? I was told last time that the guppies would need to be in the tank for 3 weeks alone just to make sure my filter had the good bacteria established in it. Just wanted to know if this was the case because it means I need to run 2 tanks at the same time for at least 3 weeks :s
Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
