What kind of fish can go in there. We have had a betta fish in there, but he died. I am thinking of something else now… tetra’s or danio’s were recommended to me in the pet store, but I believe danio’s like to be in groups and swim too fast for a 5 gallon tank?
Any other ideas? Any other pets that are easy?
I have a small heater that can go in there, as well as a small filter.

First off, I am not neither exaggerating, lying, or fishing for sympathy.
I am quite ill, young, and have been sick for a while. My health has recently gone through a steady decline, and I was wondering how I should live my life’s end should be near.

Hi. I’m currently cleaning my 5 gallon tank with a male Betta in it. I siphoned out the water, and enough has been removed. I want to replace the gravel. How can I? Is there anything special I should do? I was just thinking of scooping out the gravel with a cup, and putting in new gravel, with the fish still in there. Could the rocks crush the fish? Please tell me how to do this.

Question by homeskoolmama: There is a milky film on the aquarium walls, ? cause? treatment? Filter change done?

That sounds like you got some tainted water somewhere that was way high on nitrates or nitrites and you have a bacteria of some kind growing. I would start first with a tap water test to see what is in your tap water, and also test the nitrates and nitrite levels on your tank. You may also need to clean the tank top to bottom, and see if that helps too. There also are some commercial treatments for bad water, but first you need to find the cause, and I would lay odds it is something in the water or something that was added to the tank like shells or a rock or mineral that is not tank approved, or even wood. Check and see, and best of blessings on this,

Is there such thing as a fish tank that is portable? I have a green spotted puffer that does not like it when I leave for the night. He is only 2 inches so I was thinking of I got one of those small 2-3 gallon tank kits I could probably carry it and take it with me to places when spending the night somewhere.
I was just wondering if they actually made tanks like that for that purpose, or if I am stuck just taking my 2 gallon and using it as a travel tank. He gets stressed out if I leave for extended periods of time so I would rather just take him with me places if I intend to stay the night or whole weekend.
I maintain the 2 gallon at all times as a sick tank if someone needs to be separated from the main tank so the water is very clean, cycled and perfectly safe for him.
Would be so cool if I could take my fish with me when I go on trips and stuff. I have a converted for the car even so I could plug in his heater and filter.
I know this probably sounds rediculous, but hey, people take their dogs, cats, ect on vacation with them all the time, and they **** everywhere, piss all over, and damage hotel carpet and such. A fish is in its own little ecosystem, perfectly contained in less than a square foot.
I think a portable fishtank would be awesome. I’m just curious of such a thing already exsists, or if I would need to make one. My puffer, named Puffles, will not always be 2 inches long, but I’m hoping when he is old, he will handle me leaving for a few days better as he will be more mature. He really is a needy fish. lol Doesn’t help that I spoil him.
