Glolite Tetra Ich Question!?! Plz Answer.?

My glolite tetras may have ich. I’ve never hhad ich befor so Idk what it looks like so their for I don’t really no if they even have it or not! So wat would a glolite tetras look like if it had ich( describe it in words or a link to a picture) and what would there behavior be like if they had it? And why don’t my other fish have it(platties, male dwarf gourami, albino cories, albino bristle nose plecos, 1 snail) if the tetras even do have it, I thought they did but wasn’t sure so I went and bought MARDEL -coppersafe for ice, velvet, and other internal parasites. But the thing is Idk how to use it to treat ich and I am saving upto buy a 75 gal tank and don’t want to spend my money on filters witch the petco lady said u have to take out all the carbon(black rocks in the filter cartraige). Or could I still keep using the empty fter cartridge of carbon rocks for awhile? Do u have to have the black rocks in it? Do u have to change the filter cartraige thing or can u just keep using the same one and just cleaning the poop and stuff off it with water?

Whats Wrong With My Neon Tetra?

I have 9 neon tetras in my tank. i started with 4 wen i cycled my tank then one died a week later ( im pretty sure he was sick wen i brought him) then just recently i got 6 more. This one neon that i have had from the start has been looking sick for a littlw while now. He still swims and eats normally and seems happy. the first thing i noticed was a growth on side of his mouth thats the some colour as his body. after a while he started to go paler in colour and had a bit of wot looked like fin rot and another fish had it so i treated the tank for that, it cured the other fish but hes still the same hes also like patchy looking and the patches r lighter then the rest of him but dont look deep into him just the skin/ scales it doesnt look like the pics iv seen of ick and fungus and stuff like that so i dunno wot to treat him for. He chases the other neons a bit but other then that hes still eating and swiming normaly. so i dont think its NTD either. any ideas?
also im not to worried about the little lump as it has shrunk a bit and doesnt seem to bother him much, its just odd because i thort he was going to die for a while now but he just keeps living on, i just dont no how to treat him. ???

Neon Tetra Acting Strangely?

Okay so I have had a tank set up (approx 5 gallons) for about 5 weeks. Three weeks ago I bought home 5 neon tetra and by the next morning 4 were dead. I left the last one in there and he survived for a week before I bought 5 more so now I have six. For two weeks I have had them and they don’t swim much and lately they have just sat on the bottom and look like they are gasping.
I have a heater always set at around 28 degrees celcius and a filter.i do water changes regularly but the water looks no different and after I see particle floating around everywhere.
Please help me.
Why won’t my tank go cleaner and
What is wrong with my fish?
Also:
The neon colour is dull
They don’t swim much (except when being fed)
They look like they are gasping for air but stay at the bottom of the tank
I have the ph level at about 7.1 and the water softness/ hardness is supposedly correct I went to the fish store and they said it was too soft and told me what to put in and how much so I. Assume it’s ok…
I don’t have anytime to go out and buy new gear or get anything tested because I am so busy and stressed as this whole thing makes it worse
I’d appreciate your advice
Thanks xxx

Neon tetra swimming space?

Question by Cecily Halliwell: Neon tetra swimming space?
I know that neon tetras should be kept in a 15+ gallon aquarium, but I found a “bookshelf aquarium” at Petco.

The reason for this is that they are schooling fish and need room to swim because they’re so active.

This tank is 24″ long, and only like 9 inches tall, since its a bookshelf aquarium.

Would the neonsh have enough space to swim in here? I was thinking maybe a betta and a small school of neons (IF that’s enough room for them to exercise and swim around).

I haven’t bought anything yet, and am open to suggestions. No pygmy cories though, I already have some and they don’t like as high temperatures as bettas.

Thanks!

Oh, and stocking isn’t an issue, I can do that on my own, and it will have AT LEAST a 10 gallon filteration system on a 7 gallon tank with lots of live plants. I just want to know if they have enough space.

Its: 24.5″ long x 9″ tall x 7.5″ wide

Thanks!!
Here’s the kit: http://www.petco.com/product/14978/PETCO-Bookshelf-Freshwater-Fish-Aquarium.aspx?CoreCat=FishFC_Tanks

I’m going to ditch the crappy filter that comes with it and get another one, probably Aqueon.
I looked it up, and most websites said 24″ is the good. Just want to make sure.

There should be no problem as long as you have automatic filtering but it is not a must have. Also only add 3 fish a weak. Gives the tanks microorganisms time to adjust

Seachem Labs Flourish Excel Organic Carbon for the Planted Aquarium — 100 mL

  • AQUARIUM SUPPLIES
  • PLANT CARE PRODUCTS

Flourish Excel is a source of bioavailable organic carbon. All plants require a source of carbon. This is typically obtained from CO2, but, may also be derived from simple organic compounds (such as photosynthetic intermediates). The use of either CO2 injection or Flourish Excel does not necessarily negate the use of the other. Because the processes of producing photosynthetic intermediates and building onto them occur simultaneously, one can derive a substantial benefit with the use of Flourish

Tetra Aqua Safe, Can You Harmful Overdose For Frogs? ( Fire Belly Toad Help Please >< )?

the person at the pet store told us distilled water actually pulls the nutrients OUT of them, and that we should use spring with AquaSafe? my dad brought some home today and I added it into the large tank, but she told me to add till it turned a blueish tint, I’ve added several large squirts and it’s still clear >^-< <
if any other info's needed please ask;
there's also a little white foam, but that's been in there awhile, it always comes back no matter how much I clean the enclosure, and I'm not sure what it is or how to get rid of it :/

Cardinal Tetra Color? More Color With Age?

Hi I bought some cardinal tetras for my 65G tank about 5 months again, I had a school of 10, when i bought them all survived and they all looked like cardinals, i didn’t see anything special, they were just pretty. then a day ago i decided to up their school to 15 and bought 4 more for the time being, my old cardinals are about 2 inches long and the new ones are like 1 inch long, and the new ones RED coloration is NO WHERE near are bright and red as the older ones, but i don’t remmeber my old ones being that bright when i bought them at the petsotre, when i got them they were little too. my water quality is (ammonia0 nitrite0 nitrate 5-10 temp 78 pH 7.0-7.2 on test). so my q’s are:
do they color up with age, because that’s what i’m assuming?
does their food play a huge factor?
i don’t feed them anything special, just new life spectrum optimum fish flakes and maybe 1-2 a month some blood worms
however i’m leaning towards the age thing because it makes more sence to me, regardless the new ones are still pretty and while their schooling they ALL look beautiful, but when you single out the 4 news ones, you can tell they’re not as red as the older/bigger cardinals.
(ps the are not sick, nor do they look sick, the new guys are eating perfectly and other than being a lot smaller than my current cardinals, they actu just like them)
what do you think? am i on the right track?
