Repubs And Dems Alike: Is It Time To Stop The Bickering, And Face Some Facts? (part 1)?

1 Do you remember how much was made of the “Misery Index” during the presidency of Jimmy Carter? At that time, the “Misery Index” was constantly making headlines in newspapers all across the country. Well, according to John Williams of Shadow Government Statistics, if we calculated unemployment and inflation the same way that we did back during the Carter administration, then the Misery Index today would actually be higher than at any point during the presidency of Jimmy Carter.
#2 According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, an average of about 5 million Americans were being hired every single month during 2006. Today, an average of about 3.5 million Americans are being hired every single month.
#3 According to the Wall Street Journal, there are 5.5 million Americans that are currently unemployed and yet are not receiving unemployment benefits.
#4 All over America, state and local governments are selling off buildings just to pay the bills. Investors can now buy up government-owned power plants, prisons and municipal buildings from coast to coast. For example, the mayor of Newark, New Jersey recently sold off 16 government buildings (including the police and fire headquarters) just to pay some bills.
#5 When Americans think of “government debt”, most of them only think of the federal government, but it is not just the federal government that has a massive debt problem. State and local government debt has reached an all-time high of 22 percent of U.S. GDP.
#6 If you can believe it, one out of every seven Americans has at least 10 credit cards.
#7 Credit card usage in the United States is on the increase once again. During the month of March, revolving consumer credit jumped 2.9%. Sadly, it looks like Americans have not learned their lessons about the dangers of credit card debt.
#8 Last year, Social Security ran a deficit for the first time since 1983, and the “Social Security deficits” in future years are projected to be absolutely horrific.
#9 The U.S. government now says that the Medicare trust fund will run out five years faster than they were projecting just last year.
#10 Right now we are watching what could potentially be the worst Mississippi River flood ever recorded play out right in front of our eyes. One agricultural economist at Mississippi State University believes that this disaster could do 2 billion dollars of damage just to farms alone.
#11 The “tornadoes of 2011″ that we just saw in the southeast United States are being called the worst natural disaster that the U.S. has seen since Hurricane Katrina. It has been estimated that up to 25 percent of all of the poultry houses in Alabama were either significantly damaged or destroyed. It is also believed that millions of birds were killed.
#12 The economic effects of the BP oil spill just seem to go on and on and on. The number of very sick fish in the Gulf of Mexico is really starting to alarm scientists. The following is how one local newspaper recently described the situation….
Scientists are alarmed by the discovery of unusual numbers of fish in the Gulf of Mexico and inland waterways with skin lesions, fin rot, spots, liver blood clots and other health problems.
#13 The number of “low income jobs” in the U.S. has risen steadily over the past 30 years and they now account for 41 percent of all jobs in the United States.
#14 All over America, hospitals that care for the poor and needy are so overwhelmed and are so broke that they are being forced to shut down. Recently, a local newspaper in Florida ran an article about two prominent charity hospitals in Illinois that have served the poor for more than 100 years but are now asking for permission to shut down….
Two charity hospitals in Illinois are facing a life-or-death decision. There’s not much left of either of them – one in Chicago’s south suburbs, the other in impoverished East St. Louis – aside from emergency rooms crowded with patients seeking free care. Now they would like the state’s permission to shut down.
#15 The U.S. dollar is in such bad shape that now even Steve Forbes is predicting that the U.S. is “likely” to go back to a gold standard within the next five years.
#16 Most Americans don’t realize how much the U.S. dollar has been devalued over the years. An item that cost $20.00 in 1970 would cost you $115.93 today. An item that cost $20.00 in 1913 would cost you $454.36 today.

Help! What Would Cause My Bench Press To Stay Stop Increasing.?

Im 18, i weigh 175 and am 6 foot. I started benching 2 and half months ago. I benched 135 first day and now ive worked my way up to 200 lbs within 2 and half months. I have been benching heavy like things i could only do 5 times then keep doing that same wieght til i could get it up 8-10 then add weight til i was only doing 5 times again. Every week i was gaining 5 or more lbs on my max. I would do normal bench first. 3-5 sets of reps i could do with heavy wieght. Then i would do butterlys with dumbells 3 sets of 15 reps. Then pushups or nothing. Then i would work out all of upper body except lower back and stomach. Then the next day i would work out legs, stomach, lower back, maybe run. And i would take sunday off. But once again one day i would work out upper body, then lower body the next day. At first i drank protein when was done and a lot of it. I got sick of it though and started eating fish after working out and yes within 30 minutes. Even then i was improving much. Recently this whole half of the month ive been stuck at benching 165 5-6 times. Some days 5, some 6, and some close to 7. But never improvement just randomness. I didnt always get a significant amount of sleep but sometimes i did. I probly get more sleep now and now its goin no where in my bench. But recently lower body days i have just been not doing this whole half of the month. I dont think that would be bad. I would think that would be good cuz my body gets more rest. But the point is why is it halting. If im not improving the way i was like 5+ more lbs on my bench a week then im not gonna be motivated to do it anymore. This may sound funny but at this point im really getting upset about it. Its depressing me. It finnaly got to me today when i failed getting it up 6 times and i only got it 5. I havent been eating fish or protein as much though either. And i have been drinking more pop. But i dont think it could affect it as much. And i always eat a lot of food so im not lacking there at all. Please help me.
Additional Details
OH ALSO ive been taking breaks like maybe 1 or 2 days worth after i fail on my benching and it isnt helping. Example : ill bench and not improve for a few days, and then instead of taking one day off ill take 2, but it isnt helpiing taking bre

When Will My Fish Stop Scraping His Body Against The Rocks?

I asked a question the other day about why he was doing this and I recieved some good answers with a solution to the problem.
Today I did a 30% water change and he is doing it even MORE now! And he only began doing this AFTER the first water change I have done since the tank was set up.
Could the problem potentially be in my water supply?
I use “Tetra Aqua AquaSafe” water treatment “neutralizes chlorines, and heavy metals. Enhances natural, protective slime coating of fish. ”
Also when I did the first water change about a week ago I replaced the filter. Was this too much change all at once?
There are a total of 6 fish in the tank and only one of my fish was doing it yesterday but since the water change earlier today, one of my other fish began doing it also.
Will it just take continued regular water changes for him to stop or should he have stopped after I cleaned the water??
I really want him to stop doing this soon he’s my favorite fishy I don’t want him to die. :(

What Can I Do To Stop My Platy Bullying?

I’ve had three platys for about three weeks. They are all males and are roughly the same size except for one who is slightly bigger. They were fine at the beginning. About one week after purchasing them, the biggest one had a fight with one of the smaller ones. Their fight lasted for about 1 hour 30 min’s. Now those two are joined at the hip, they go round with one another and sometimes swim in sync. In the past week, the bigger platy has started bullying the other smaller platy. Whenever the smaller platy comes out of the foliage, this bigger one just chases it and knocks it around, forcing it back into the bushes. They have plenty of space to swim around, there are only three of them, with two other smaller fish in a 125litre aquarium. what is making the bigger platy bully the smaller one? What can I do to stop it?

What Can I Do To Stop Having Loads Of Fish Waste In One Part Of My Aquarium?

In one corner of my aquarium i think the flow stops there, so all the fish waste collects there and makes my sand look disgusting. It also collects in some plants and again looks disgusting.
I cant move my filter because it is in a box that is fixed to that corner, and I already have an air stone, but I cant move it really, my tank isn’t that big (16 gallons)
has anyone got any ideas other than using a gravel cleaner as I haven’t got one yet (I’m getting one at the end of the month)

How Can I Stop Body Bashing Myself?

I want to think positive thoughts when I see myself, but I don’t. I just see ugliness and I’m sick of it. I want to be confident and feel more confident. I actually see a councilor because I hate myself, but I’m done with it. I want to be happy about myself and think “I like myself!” rather than the opposite. I’m not fishing for compliments or anything, but I was wondering if any of you out there has any methods to overcome this, and where can I start :) thanks in advance!

8 Month Old Rottweiler Wont Stop Itching Above His Tale/nub?

I started to notice that my rottweiler was continuously itching above his tail. So i took him to the vet thinking he had fleas or mites and he had neither. However he continues to itch so i tried the fish oil but it seems to make him sick.I just started to try an put an egg in his food but to early to see if it will work. I don’t regularly wash him. He has tiny red bumps on the area he keeps biting. I have tried a special spray called “Richard’s Organics Incredible Skin Spray” it works but only for a little while then he is back to his itching. He does show a lot of dandruff on his fur as well. I brush him everyday to try and help but nothing seems to be helping. If any one has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
