I own a freshwater aquarium, do you need a ultraviolet sterilizer in a tank. Does it help? is it worth the amount of my $70.00. If not is there another cheap way to prevent my fish from getting disease?

I have a 46 gallon with tetras, bosemani rainbows, a rubber pleco, and a dwarf gourami. But in the future I want a 60 gallon with Discus or angel fish. I was thinking mayby saving up for 2 and putting one in each tank. Would it be worth it?
