Looking To Get Some Fish. Can You Help?

I want to get a very small fish bowl , I’m talking about a actuall old style fish bowl. What kind of fish could i put in the bowl? I don’t want Beata or goldfish. Im looking for a cool looking fish ( just one). ALSO if you know any small *crab like* animals that can go on the bottom of the bowl that would be very helpful. Thanks !!!
-not salt water
-no heated tank
-not beta/goldfish
-i will be hand cleaning the tank

Switching Tanks Friday, Need Some Advice And Help!?

hi,
right now i have a 40 gallon freshwaater community tank with peaceful small fish. on friday i am bying a 75 gall tank from a guy that curently has cichlids in it. i am giving the 5 cichlids to my friend and just taking the tank and accesories and stuff. my questions are,
1. i will be buying 2 or 3 pieces of drift wood from petco and is their any thing i should do to the wood to make it safe to put in the tank right away? like i read something about tannins- what is that? is it bad?
2.do you no any fish taht gets along with guppies, tetras, cherry barbs, male dwarf gouramis, and stuff like that that is biggish nice and good looking?
3.the guy who im buying the tank from has a, Emperor Biowheel 400 filtration unit- is this good enough to keep the tank good and clean and healthy? or do i need another one?
4. i want to get some white skirt blushing tetras( http://www.google.com/imgres?q=white+ski… ) and i was wondering if any one knew anything about them, what the temperment is? do they get along with small tetras, guupies, platties, male dwarf gouramis, shrimp… and do they need a group of 5+?

I Know Its Long But Really Need Some Help?

My husband has a drug problem and I told him if he messed up and left us broke again I was going to leave, but his daddy is in the hospital dying hooked up to a respirator and thats the only thing keeping him alive and my husband is messing up again. This time he gave me all of his money before i left so he wouldnt mess up but I know he is probably just selling his fishing poles and whatever tools he has. Would I be an awful person if I left him knowing he is suffering from his dad being so sick and may not live? What should I do? We have 2 kids also

Can’t Choos Wat Filter I Should Get! And Some More Other Questions! Plz Answer?

Ok, pretty soon(a couple(1-3) weeks) I am buying a 75 gal tank from my friend for verrrrrrrrryy cheap!( 75 dollars)!!! The reason he is selling it to me so cheap is because he only boughtthe tank and the lizard that’s in it for 100$ so I’m getting a good deal. He is unsure of if he still wants the lizard or not so if he does want it I will just switch tanks with him(my 40 gal for his 75 gal) but if he doesnt want it then I will have to sell it on craigslist or something. Anyways do u think that I’ll be able to clean all the sand and stuff out really good to be able to make it a fish tank with it’s suppose to be? And the lizard only poops like once a week so it’s not like there’s poop everywhere in the tank and really dirty. I’m going to fill the whole tank up with my hose outside to make sure it doesn’t have any leeks ( how long should I leave it full of water before it’s official that it doesn’t leek)? And I can’t decide eat filter to get. Wat do u guys think on a filter to get for my 75 gal tank that is in the price range of 60 -90 dollars(I’m only 15 so I’m on a budget:) and how should I get all my water from my 40 gal to my 75 gal? Should I just put the rocks in and then all the 40 gals on water, put all the fish it and then the last 35 gals of tap water with water conditioner in it? Will that stress out the fish? I have 2 filter(old one I have now and the new one u recamend) and I’m going the use Ben both in the 75 gal so can I just run the new one righ awwY when I get all the water filled up?! Can You Give Me Some Good Careers?

I love working with animals especially marine animals. Not as much marine mammals though. I’m thinking about being a Marine Biologist or Marine Ecologist. I want to study marine animals and do some general research and help conserve reefs and underwater environments. I also may want to be a Marine Conservation Biologist. I want to work in an aquarium so can anyone give me a good list of careers involving lots of interactions with marine animals. I want to be able to research marine life to figure out ways to conserve ecosystems and help fish. But I think I want it to be in Marine Biology or Ecology. Thank you in advance!

What Are Some Fun Good Paying Careers With Marine Life?

I want to work in an aquarium and do diving and stuff like that. I want to study the fish in person and help the aquarium care for the fish and things like that. So pretty much like a Marine Biologist for an aquarium but are there more different jobs other than just sitting in a lab studying plankton, for an aquarium? Are there any well paying careers that meet my expectations?

I Need Some Turtle Help,i Think It May Be Gravid?

I am about 95% sure my YBS turtle is a female (tail, nails, and undershell) but I can’t see the cloaca, Every time I approach I to take a look, it contracts into its shell so I can’t see it. But it’s always literally swimming into the aquarium wall and swimming restlessly. I removed it from its tank today and after about 5 minutes of hoaxing, it started moving. I noticed that the forward part of her inner leg (the inside of leg, towards the head) is a pale white color and it is like a small cave (probably for its knee when it contracts) but behind its leg (RIGHT behind it because it’s slightly bulging) there are tiny dots (about the size of beads in those micro-fiber pillows) and it looks as if she’s gravid but they’re very tiny dots and i’m not sure what they are.
