Whats Wrong With My Red Eared Slider?

first off, i know that most health problems in turtles are caused by inadequate habitats, so this is what ive got:
I have 3 large red eared sliders in a 55 gal aquarium with a dock, light source, heaters, decent filtration, and i feed them a diverse diet including meat, veggies and pellets. The water is conditioned with reptisafe and another anti algae chemical.
About 2 months ago i noticed that one of the turtles was acting very lethargic, sleeping in the corner all the time and being very submissive when i fed them. I just got back from break about two weeks ago and it is still acting the same.
Then about 3 days ago, i noticed that the turtle has whitish marks on the top of its head. Now the marks have grown bigger, about the size of a pencil eraser, and look like some sort of infection. The turtles shell is NOT softer then usual, and it has no white marks on its shell. It still sleeps most of the day, but when it wakes up it acts pretty much normal, swimming around and eating things (not acting “sick”).
I read up on fungal infections but im still not sure if thats what its got. Either way, i isolated it in a makeshift dry tank which i keep moist and warm, until i figure out whats wrong.
Im a college student and theres no way i can justify paying a vet to fix a 15 dollar turtle. Ive had the turtles for a long time and i would hate to see one die, as would my roommates.
If you know whats going on, please help!

Questions About Taking Care Of My Red Eared Slider?

I bought my turtle, Sylvia, last November at a local fair. She was a little over one inch long and wide. Her size has almost tripled since then. They had a lot of them at the booth in little tiny plastic carrying cases, all of the turtles were very small. I bought mine as more of a whim than anything else and then got home and began doing research so I would be able to give her a long and healthy life. I have a friend who has had a lot of turtles and I asked him some questions but his answers seemed to contradict things that I had read, so I thought I’d post my questions here as well.
She’s in a 30 gallon tank right now but I’m making preparations to move her into a larger one as she grows. I have a filter, heater, basking rock, and heat lamp. I’ve been feeding her Zilla Fortified Aquatic Turtle Food and nothing else, just for the simple reason that I’m a little confused on what is and isn’t okay to feed her. Her diet is one of my main concerns and I heard I could give her feeder fish but my friend said that I would have to “break” the fish before I put it in? I was under the impression that I could just release a fish or two in the tank and she would catch it.
Next is that when she’s in the water I can see almost transparent, whispy things attached to her neck. One person I talked to said she was just shedding but then my friend told me that this is actually bad and she might get sick if I don’t take care of it. Trouble is, I don’t know how to ‘take care of it’. Suggestions? Is she just shedding or is it something else?
The next question is about adding another turtle to her aquarium when I have more experience with them. Is there a chance of aggression or are most turtles okay with having company?
If there are any other helpful tips that you can think of I would be incredibly grateful!

Yellow Belly Slider Turtle Help?

Well i got it about 4 months ago. And i was keeping it in a portable tank with enough room to swim and bask. Then a month or so later it started not swimming really and just floating or sitting on its basking area. so i thought it was just tired of being cramped up in that cage thing. So i bought a 10 gallon aquarium and got it a ” Turtle dock” for basking. And its behavior has not changed at all. Oh and he hasn’t grown really at all its pretty much the same size as he was when i got it.

Squirt The Red Ear Slider Turtle – Tank Set-Up

A video showing step-by-step what’s in Squirt’s tank, how it’s set-up, what his basking area is made of, what lights I use, what sand I use, ect. Informative if you’re looking to see how to properly set up a hatchling or juvinile turtle. This is, obviously, not Squirt’s final set-up. As he gets bigger, Squirt will be moved into a 125 gallon tank, as red ear sliders can grow quite large. His water temp will decrease as he gets older as well, as adults like their water around 74-76 degree’s.

A outside the tank, canister filter is the best type to use. If you have 30 gallons of water, get a filter for 60 gallons turtles are very messy.

Is It Ok To Put Goldfish In A Tank That Used To Have Red Slider Turtles In It?

My daughter had some turtles in a 46 gal tank, after we got rid of them, the tank sat for about a month we cleaned it out and put some feeder gold fish and one oranda, it’s only been about 2 weeks since we had them and over the past 2 days all have died.
