I have a baby painted turtle. Its about the size of a quarter. Its shell on the top and exspecially the bottom in the center is sooo soft. And I know that’s not good. What does it need? I feed him a cricket..about the length of the baby turtle about every 3 4 days. Does he need more?? And what other foods? It only eats meat type products, not the pellets or cuttle bone. Also what’s a schedule for lighting. Like how many hours a day. Also is duckweed a good source of calcium?
And what type of stuff does it need in its tank. I have a little fish tank about 3 gallons. I have rocks and water in there..anything else need to be in there? Please and thank you if you help answere
Removing a hermit crab from its shell can cause serious stress and damage to the animal, such as pulling off limbs or cracking shells. So i found this really cool shell at the beach that’s about the right size for one of my hermit crabs. I looked up how to clean a shell but all it said to do was boil it, which i did, but it didn’t get rid of the calcium deposits . >.<…I would like to get rid of them without using anything toxic to my hermit crab. And how do you polish it to make it shiny like the ones in the pet stores? Btw, it’s a purple claw land hermit crab.
i did just ask this but about kribensis cichlid so instead i wanted to know could i have one shell dwelling cichlid in a 10 gallon tank with a pair of bolivian rams, 2 cory cats, 2 neon tetra and a dwarf gourami or is my tank already to its fish limit
i have 2 filters to keep it clean one for a 10 gallons and another one for a 15 liter tank, have a heater and places for the fish to hide.
please help thank you
i have read about shell dwelling cichlids and they only get to 1- 1.5 inches so i dont think adding one to my tank will be a big problem but if it is please tell me
I have decided to do shellies because of their size, and how interesting they are!
I would like some advice.
I have a 10 gallon and a 20 gallon tank empty, and I would like to know which to use, and how many I could put into each. The 10 gallon is a normal size tank, the 20 gallon is a high. I plan to use a lot of shells, and for it to be a single species tank. I have good filtration and heating etc, I’m very versed on the proper care of fish, lol. Is this a good choice of breed? Any advice is very appreciated. Thanks.
