Which of my bettas would be best with my platy? please read?

Question by Sky: Which of my bettas would be best with my platy? please read?
I have SIX platy fry at 3 months old, and they are huge, and yes I asked this before but stupid answers came up. so let me clear some things…

I found a betta in a tank of TETRAS and he was fine. I bought him.
I got my other betta from the tank of GUPPIES and he has looooong flowy fins, and didn’t care for the guppies.
Another betta I got was in with gentle balloon mollies, and I got HIM.

My betta has been with DANIOS, BALLOON MOLLIES, GUPPIES, TETRAS, ETC. So do NOT tell me they kill everything because I know you are wrong, and you also won’t get the “best answer” since you never answered the damn question.

Okay, three bettas that may go in with my tetra.
youngest is 5 months, mellow (or stressed, he is new), never been in community tank
2.5 year old male is active, fast, but good with other fish aka has been in community tank
the female is skittish but gentle with other fish aka has been in community tank.

Which one sounds the best to be with the platy? REAL answers only please, and don’t write books on how to care for betta, molly, or platy. I have plants and crevices for the betta, and by plants I mean loads, because I did have danios with him before (although they attempted “schooled” with him…weird…)

So, which do you think is okay in the tank? Thanks for any real, good answers :)

oh, by the way, if no best answers occur I may note I have no room for another tank as I have three, so it is possible that one betta will have to be in a bowl if people say “don’t put him in the tank” and word of advice.. the bowl is small, and a heater is too big. I am in a basement, and winter is mighty cold… So… All of them needs to be in a tank.
omfg fishlover thank you for an actual answer… about time :) Yeah I have no idea about the new male, because he is fairly new so I have no idea what he is like…

I have one smaller tank (forget to mention that one haha) plus the three tanks mentoned. So don’t worry they will be fine, but I only have those ones and I cannot put one in with the mollies as one of my mollies is a bit of a bully (although the others would be fine). The other tank holds 2 month old balloon molly fry, or fry that is too big to fit in a betta’s mouth. Complete with floating plants and hiding spots. Them, not too worried about.

I would go for the 2.5 year old male or the skittish female. The male will hold out for himself in the tank of platy but if your worried about volince the female would be better but she might be a bit nervous. I’d try the male first if he seems violent then swap him for the female. Don’t try the new male till you have tried him with less risky fish first.

I’m getting a QUARTER SIZED red ear slider and would like to keep it in a 2 gallon tank for at most a week before I can buy him/her a proper sized aquarium when I get paid. Will he/she be ok in it for a week?

How to make a homemade filter that is enough to filter a 5 gallon aquarium? And what is the materials that going to use for this?
I have a 5 gallon aquarium with aquarium florescent light, heater, thermometer, and a air pump that connect to gravel filter but my gravel filter is no longer working because its been broke and it’s useless.
I would like to ask also, if it is possible to make a homemade DIY external aquarium filter using air pump, but I know their is a powerhead(water pump- that recommend for a 5 gallon ) needed to make complete this filter, right? and it is possible that it can produce oxygen for fish?
I am really just needing a cheap and recycled material but durable, effective and longer lasting that need’s to make it, like a cheap container or a tube. For example in recycled materials sand that came from your backyard or gravels that also came from your backyard. I really want a new smart idea to make my aquarium like crystal clear because of cleanliness than before but ok, I will accept even if it is a idea that came from you researches but I want is, it should be effective.
I want the list of materials, but if there’s a material should be measured, I will accept it and also the steps to make it. For example in measuring, a bottle, it should be cut off on the top by 5 inches.
I want a homemade DIY ExTeRnAl aquarium filter or any filters that is easy to make and easy to find the materials of it (Like: Homemade DIY Aquarium external mini canister filter. (meaning of external here is outside the aquarium not inside). ok :)

So i want to the store and found dozens of tadpoles and they were only 1.99 and i bought 2.And i also have a red tailed shark,a kulie loach that is white and orange striped,and i have this other albino fish and i have 3 ghost shrimp and 2 baby snails in a 10 gallon aquarium with everything and its fresh water.It has decorations face grass and some lava rocks and a filter.Pretty much everything you need for any fresh water fish exept the size.And i was thinking how am i evan going to care for this tadpole?Oh and i have 2 bullfrog tadpoles!THANK U

ok i have some rock that i forgot to wash it with hot water and my oscar is not swimming healthy and im going to clean it tommorow so will he survive tomorrow? and i bearly got him yesterday. he was swiming heathy in the bag but when i put him in his tank he didnt swim at all and hes in a 100 gallon fish tank so will he survive?

i bought 5 goldfish 4 days ago (3 tiny ones and 2 larger ones) after a few hours i found the smallest of the lot dead. next morning found the other smallest one dead and a day later the last of the small ones was also dead (i found it with the other 2 larger ones kinder like headbutting it) now every time i feed my fish the largest one chases the other one round the tank. but when they do this the water always goes from clear and clean to cloudy. i’ve had to clean the tank out 6 times in 4 days due to it. i’ve looked up why they might be doing this and most answers came to say they are mating but if that is the case why did the 3 other fish die and why do they only chase each other at feeding time?

She said no because I am sixteen and she is afraid that they will still be alive by the time I go to college. She does not want to be stuck taking care of them and does not trust my friends to do so. I absolutely refuse to put them to sleep because that is cruel, irresponsible, and unfair to the rats. She said I can’t return them to the rescue because that is irresponsible and the rats have a better chance of being adopted when they are young, so it is mean to take them in just to return them to foster care, which I totally agree with, so it’s really not an option. She thinks it is unfair to take them with me because they would have to be kept in unfair conditions (small aquarium probably)–unless I kept them in a secret cage in the closet or something, which colleges can’t look in due to privacy policies. However, I don’t want to ask my mom if I can do that because it means breaking the rules, and I think asking if I can will just make her angry because I would be willing to do that, which is “irresponsible.” I am going to ask her if I can just get older rats, but if she turns that idea down, I need a back-up plan. And I would kind of prefer to get really young rats anyway if I can find a way to do so, especially because I just lost my last two guinea pigs within a month of each other and I really miss them and I don’t want to have to go through that again for a little while if I can help it. If I had to, though, then I would because, as hard as it is, it is worth the love and companionship pets can give you. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Oh yeah, and by the way rats make amazing pets and I don’t want a different kind of animal so please just help me out and don’t say that rats are disgusting, etc. because they’re not and I love them and even if you think they are, that’s what I want so please help me.

I’m Not Sure What I Want To Be When I Grow Up? (read Description)?

I’m currently an incoming 15 going on 16 Sophomore in High School. My mom says i should have some idea of what i want to be when i grow up by now. The only problem is i’m not sure what i want to be when i grow up because i’m tied between three different careers.
1. Marine Biologist
Why: I’ve always been fascinated by marine life even as a kid. I live on a small town on the Oregon Coast and we have an aquarium here. I LOVE going to it, looking at the fish, learning about the creatures, everything. I got the idea of me wanting to be a marine biologist when i found out the passion i have about learning about marine life when i was in about 11 or so.
2. High School History Teacher
Why: I love and have always loved learning about history. It fascinates me deeply. Specifically the history of the 20th century; like: the great depression, world war 1 and 2, holocaust, etc.
3. Archeologist/Paleontologist
Why: I’m not even really sure why. I think i need a better job description for this one….lol
I’d appreciate answers from people who know what these careers are all about. Like give a description of what you do in those jobs, how much you get paid, what you classes you should take in high school/college to get started in this career area, etc. Tell me which career you think is better and stuff. Opinions would be of great help. Thanks!
