Why Should Anyone Praise God Or Give Him Credit For Anything (read The Whole Question)?

Imagine i dug a hole along the path you take home from work every day knowing that you would come upon it, fall in, and hurt yourself. Let’s say this is exactly what happens the next day, you fall in and break your leg… but i’m there to see it happen and i rush over to your aid, get you safely out of the hole, splint your leg and take you to the hospital. Don’t you think it would be wrong for me to expect praise for my heroic deeds of saving you in this case?
Now consider Christianity. This is basically what the Christian God does on a much grander scale… He set a trap for humanity (the tree, and the snake) and when humans fell victim to his plan, as he knew they would (he is omniscient after all, no?) he punishes them for eternity. But wait! he offers salvation in the form of Jesus Christ…. We should be thankful that he put us in this mess just so he could fish us out right… and the whole reason he did all of that is so that we would thank him and praise him. It sounds pretty sick if you ask me.
So, should the guy who digs you a hole just so he can save you and get credit be praised and thanked for his heroic deeds? If you say no, then why praise a God that supposedly did the exact same thing?

Question Regarding My Ball Python?

I have a Ball Python and I got him a mesh cage. Now, I hope you understand what mesh is because I can’t explain it. It’s big enough that when he grows full size, he’ll have plenty of room rather than a cramped up glass aquarium. Anyhow, I want him to stay warm with the heat lamp, but I have no idea how. Basically, I don’t want to put it too close because of a fear of him crawling on it and getting burned (he did once already) and also if it’s too high up, the heat escapes because of the darn mesh. Is there anyone who can give me some ideas on how to trap the heat? The bulb is 100 watts and I was thinking of putting a blanket over the cage…but then thought “fire hazard.” Any suggestions? Thank you!

I Have One Last Question About Dwarf African Frogs.?

I promise this is the last aquarium question today! ; – ) I have set up a 20 gallon river tank ecosystem. ( With several of you guys helping!) If you’ve not seen one before, they consist of a 20 gallon tank with a large backdrop built in. The backdrop contains ledges, plants, pools, and waterfalls. This is my question. I added three dwarf African frogs to the tank. They will obviously be able to climb on the backdrop area. There is a 1/8 to 1/4 in gap where the aquarium hood meets the tank due to cords. Is this a large enough gap for the frogs to escape – or do these aquatic frogs even do that sort of thing? I know that fire bellied toads are escape artists from terrariums but am not sure about these frogs. Any ideas?

Gourami & Betta question….?

Question by Sweets: Gourami & Betta question….?
Hi, I have 2 male 3-spot/blue pearl gouramis, in my 55 gal tank. I added 2 female Bettas to the tank yesterday. The girls hold their own against the gouramis and the rainbow sharks, but it almost seems as though the gouramis are interested in more from the betta girls, than just fighting… That goes both ways too…

My question is, will a male gourami “court” a female Betta, and if so, could they breed? If everything’s perfect in the tank, will the gouramis make bubble nests for the girls, hopeless or not? Or was it just a bad idea altogether to mix gouramis with bettas, no matter what sex mix?

I know betta males think of gouramis as opponents, because they’re cousins, but these girls display (puff out) the same as the males do, but toward each other AND the gouramis. Of course, the big gourami gets jelous when the little one gets the girl’s attention… lol

Anyone a Fish Shrink out there??? lol
Thanks for your answers!
;o)

gourami are naturally aggressive and so are bettas. the puffing is a bluffing strategy to help them look bigger to fend the gourami . they can not as far as i know inter breed. might move one or the other species to another tank if you have it and the larger gourami will probably constantly pick on the smaller one for food and dominance. good luck

Fish Tank Cycle Process Question?

Ok so, I am a new fish owner. This is my first time owning and tank and I am completely oblivious to the whole tank cycle process, ammonia, nitrates, yada yada yada, untill just today. I purchased 5 glo fish, and 2 of them have died today due to ammonia poisoniong, which I discoverd from a bit of research, now the three I have alive are still pretty active, however one of them for sure has the typical reddening of the gills and fin, so I assuming he is pretty sick as well just not as bad as the dead ones obviously.
Now, here is my big mistake, being the new fish owner I am, I thought, oh no! too much ammonia, need to do a complete water chance asap! WOOPS!
After speaking with the petsmart employee where I purchased the fish, and after I had already done the complete water change, he explained to me a short and sweet version of the cycle process…oh dang I just reset the whole process, which to me I feel I just gave a definite death sentence to the three living fish, since they are already stressed and feeling the effects of the first round of ammonia, now they gotta go through it again. Of course the employee says that may not happen, but I am not stupid, if they barely made it through this round, they definitly gonna bit the dust this time, no thanks to me.
Well!! Now that I know about this stuff, which should have been explained to me by the petsmart people when I purchased the fish to begin with seems how I told them I was a first time fish owner, my big question is, is there anyway to complete the cycle process in a tank without the fish? I would so hate to buy more fish, damning them to a what seems like awful death, if I could avoid it by pre-cycling the tank for them. I was thinking if it can be done, when and if (most like when) my remaining 3 fish die, I might completely clean out the tank, and start from scratch on the cycling buisness. Can it be done? Where can I find information on how to do it?

Question About Betta Fish?

I DON’T GET IT! This is very frustrating…i spent $33 on food, a 1.5 gallon tank, and water conditioner for one Betta fish…the guy at the fish store told me you can keep it in a small little cup like bowl it will still be fine with nothing else, JUST like they did in the store, yet mine died after 2 days.
note: I bought them healthy and the tank was clean on my side……whats going on??? I am reading now that a filter and heater is mandatory….:( help

Yes you can. It clogs a little faster usually but it works well. The batting for quilting is also a good choice, it’s often easier to work with in a filter.
