What Size Generator Do I Need To Power A 110 Flux Welder?

I have a 90amp 110 flux core welder and I need a generator to power it so I can run the welder in a shop. I am replacing some floor pans in my car. The welder will only be ran for a few seconds at a time for spot welding so I won’t have a constant pull on the generator but for a couple of seconds on each spot weld.
I read that to get the correct wattage to power the welder you muliply the AMPS x VOLTS. In this case it is 20 amps x 120v (wasn’t sure if it was 110 or 120). Nevertheless it comes out to 2400 watts. I can’t run the generator at 100% capacity though so I need one a little larger than that.
At what percentage would it be safe to run the generator at constant? For instance, should the 2400 watts be 50%, 75% of the generators rated or max output?
I found a really good deal on a 3500 watt generator and the welder would be pulling about 60% each time I spot weld with it so there would be some spare power. Is this safe enough for this job?
My problem is I can’t really afford to haul a larger generator around very much and it would rarely see any use except for when the power went out for more than a few hours which has only happened once here in the last several years and even then we don’t have much around the house to power except a few lights, fans, aquarium, and at the most a single refrigerator which would be ran by itself for a short time at night to keep food frozen.

Does Anyone Know What Power Cord Fits This Aquarium?

My sister recently gave me her old aquarium. However, she is missing the power cord. I looked up the aquarium online, and from the pictures I believe it is a Tetra Water Wonders 1.5 Gallon Aquarium Kit. The power cord plug in shape looks a bit rectangular (if that helps). I tried looking online, and have no idea what kind of power cord comes with this kit, or where I could find one to even buy it without buying the whole kit. Any help is appreciated!

My Penn Plax Cascade 200 Power Filter Stops Working Randomly, Why?

I will have had it for about 4 months now.. I bought the whole tank set off a pro fish hobbyist in the next county over. The filter was brand new.
Every now and then the motor or impeller wil stop working..no humming or anything..it will just stop.
I will take the unit down, clean it out and plug it in, it will start running again but for only about 5 minutes..then it stopps again. Yes I do have water in there when I run it.
I have noticed that when I have the intake tube on there it wont work, but when I lift it up a bit it works..but again only for a few minutes then it stopps again.
The motor will then get very hot.
what is wrong?
I ordered moe filter cartridges online and I would hate to have this filter stop working before they got here because then I feel like it was a waste.
Is there a cheap fix for this?
new impellor or motor?
Where would I buy these parts at??
any other suggestions?
I would like to avoid replacing the whole filter if possible..thanks.

How to slow power filter currents?

Question by Pikachu Kirby: How to slow power filter currents?
I own a Top Fin Power Filter 10 for my 10 gallon aquarium. I have no fish as of yet, but I’ve tested with a bottle cap and the current it makes seems to be too strong. What can I do to slow this down, without having to buy a new filter?
Hey, I never said which fish I was getting, don’t assume things. I’m getting 1 fantail goldfish.

What is the difference between a power filter and a internal filter for an aquarium?

Question by FlAsHeR*RaY: What is the difference between a power filter and a internal filter for an aquarium?
I have a 20-29 gallon aquarium with 2 baby map turtles in it. I need to buy a new filter because my current one has gone out on me. I want to keep the water very clean, and im not sure which sort of filter is needed to accompany their needs.

i was going to head over to walmart and get one, but im not sure which one is needed, a power filter or internal filter.

food:
they’re eating frozen dry shrimp and little Reptomin pelets. after they eat the pelets, that’s what gets the aquarium cloudy.

help quick because im really tired of changing the water.

An internal filter lies at the bottom of the tank. (no good). A power filter hangs on the back of the tank. These are the best. Get one that will accomodate a 40-55 gallon tank. Your tank has to be completely full for a power filter. If you have your tank only partially full with turtles, you’ll have to continue to change the water. They are not very good at keeping the tank clean, as you already know. Good luck.
