My Fish On Plastic Container?

So I’m planning to do a DIY aquarium background and I’m planning to just buy a cheap plastic container like this (link below) cos I dont have that much money to buy a used tank. Size of the container is 32.13″ L x 19.13″ W x 13.75″ I will also put water from my current tank and all the other stuff needed. So is it safe to put them on a container temporarily for about 2-3 weeks?http://www.walmart.com/catalog/detail.gs…

can i make decorations in my fish tank using plastic water bottles?

i want to make little caves and such out of plastic water bottles. is this ok or will it harm the fish? please help

How to keep plastic fish tank decorations in place ?

This may be a simple answer….. but….

I just vacuumed, did a 1/3 water change [ I use reverse osmosis water] and rearranged the decorations. ONCE again ! I can’t seem to keep the decorations down in the water and where I want them to stay.

They have this plastic ‘boat’ on the bottom and I tried putting little rocks and then wedging large rocks in them.

They end up moving away from what I want ‘covered over’ or getting loose and floating to the top. Arrrrgh.

There must be a better way?

Thanks in advance.
Thanks, Junie, I DID have problems with the nitrite – nitrate levels and could not get them down with the smaller water changes. I usually do about 1/4 water change and that clears it up. Not this time. I even did a 1/4 water change, waited 3 days and did it again; no change 2 days after that. I called up the Aquarium Store in a nearby town for help and took in water samples for both tanks. The owner was amazed that the little 10-gallon tank was perfect and the big tank was ‘huh?’ what is going on here.

I use treated tap water that has sat out for a few days, but I was running out of water to put in.

Around here, we have fluoride *added* to our water & the chloride is not just plain chloride; I think it is chloramine – harder to clear. Do a search on *fluoride* to see it is outlawed in some cities & states because it is toxic. Put fluoride *on* teeth!

I have something made by *Tetra* to add minerals to the water.

Does this sound good?
