What Could I Keep In A 7 Gallon Plastic Fish Tank?

i used to keep fish – but when i say i used to keep fish, i mean in aquariums ranging frm 45 gallons to 200+ gallons… and i still do but only in ponds now.
but anyway, i dont really have experience with small tanks… so what could i keep in a 7 gallon (7.14 to be exact) plastic fish tank? just something simple would be fine. anything. execpt one apple snail. are there any fish small enough to live in a 7 gallon that dont need large schools? i know everyone says go for a beta (fighting fish) but something other then that?
is there anything interesting i can get? loach/eel wise? (obviously not an eel, to my knowledge there arent any freshwater eels that small)
before you mention white cloud minnows, dont please, i’ve got a soft side for these little guys. i believe they need atleast 10-15 gallons minimum since they like to swim alot.
so is there anything i can do with this tank out of curiousity?
tropical or coldwater is fine, not marine though. i just want something simple. and marine tanks seem a little harder to keep unless they are big tanks.

Is it ok to keep two or three guppy’s in a plastic “tank”?

Question by Kristin A.: Is it ok to keep two or three guppy’s in a plastic “tank”?
Hi!

I’m getting two or three guppy males today… I want to quarantine them for about one – two weeks b4 I put them in my main aquarium… (In case they got any diseases)…

So I was wondering, can they stay in a 4 gallon transparent plastic box in the meantime?
If I fill it with the main aquarium water, and put gravel, plants and a filter pump in it…+++ …..

The pump I’m going 2 use, is actually in the main aquarium right now, but I got 2 pumps in the main… (So there is bacteria in the filter)….. ;-)

If not, I have a 1 gal. goldfish bowl…. – Only my friend said that she had heard that they will die if they are put in fish bowls?……

Ps. Only answer if you know the answer.

Thank you!

Can I Use Plastic Drywall Anchors As A Biological Filter Media For My Aquarium?

I’m building my own DIY trickle filter as a second filter on my 75 gallon tank. I dont want to spend too much on filter media. I was looking at the plastic drywall anchors and i see that it has lots of surface area and will make a good biological media for bacteria growth. my only concern is that I don’t know if there may be any toxic substances in the plastic that may inhibit bacteria growth or may even kill my fishes. please tell me if this is a good idea or maybe suggest any better alternatives.
