For Aquaponics, Is It Possible That I Just Place The Plant Directly In The Aquarium?

Instead of buying all those pumps and basins, is it okay if I place my Kangkong (Ipomea Aquatica) plant DIRECTLY in the aquarium? The aquarium has 2 parrot goldfish and is around 5 gallons (or more) in size. What are the possible effects of this on the Kangkong plant?

I seek to someday (in a few years) have a very large tank in my home that is self regulated with fish that do well with each other and require little to no feeding. I’m looking for information on what I should put in it or how to get started. (NOT like aquarium size (will depend on the space I will have) and I’m not really open to getting into fresh water varieties.) Thanks

Hi all

I’m wondering if it’d be ok to place my fish water filter on its side to save some space rather than upright due to the way my tank is set up.

Does anyone know if I can do this or will the filter not work if it is placed this way and/or break down?

Yeah, it’s one of those simple one unit little canister filters, the cheap ones you can get for a very small tank (20L).

I hope this is the kind that sits completely inside the tank. Yeah, you can do that, I have one sideways in my turtles tank because the waters not deep enough to have it sit up right.

Why Are My Colbalt Dwarf Gourami Just Sitting In One Place For Ages?

my fish tank is pretty big like about a metre long by half a metre wide. i have two cobalt dwarf gourami fish that i have had for about a month now. they have their own territory and if one or the other goes around the other fish’s spot it chases it. that’s about the only time they swim around. are they meant to just sit there or not? my other fish that i had before these ones that were guppy fish swam around heaps !

I am visiting a friend in Houston this weekened and I tried googling live fish near houston/discus fish near houston but google does not have very many matches. If I do live fish in austin there are several places that come up with addresses and websites and all that great stuff. You would think Houston would have a lot of sites out there.

Where do I place my favicon, I’m using glassfish v 2.1 and i’m testing on my localhost using firefox. In which folder exactly should I place it?
I’m using JSP by the way and what is the recommended link to place in the head?
It’s still a bit unclear everything is in the netbeansproject folder
Works like a charm but it doesn’t work in intenet explorer. What is the correct way to place it? I know for ie you need an icon I already have that but the only thing that shows up is a “unknown format” (looks like a window with 6 colored squares) icon in the address bar and the tab just shows the ie logo I need help again.
