I’ve heard the average size of a school of dangerous piranha is about 20 to 30 fish (correct this if it is wrong) with schools of several thousand seen but less likely. If 20 or 30 red-bellied piranha were to devour say a cow in a matter of minutes each fish would have to be able to eat close to 100 times its own body weight. How much does a piranha weigh? How much meat can it eat? Or do the piranha simply spit out the meat and try to kill the animal and eat whatever they can afterwards? I’m guessing a piranha weighs about between a pound and ten pounds and probably can not eat more than 10 pounds of meat at one time, but I don’t know.
Oh, I see. So a cow, about 800 pounds to up to 2,000 pounds for a bull, cannot really be turned into a skeleton in minutes by a school of 20 to 30 piranha based on that information. Good, good.
