I purchased two fancy mice several months ago. They were very small, and looked as if they could squeeze through the bars of a wire hamster cage. The pet store guy said a 5 gallon critter aquarium would be more than enough space, and escape proof. Now I don’t think it is big enough anymore.
I’m dismantling my 20 gallon terrarium because of a reoccurring cricket problem, and I figure I can just make it into a huge mouse home. It has no lid currently, so I could build something on top. One of my mice likes to climb. One of my mice is very fat and doesn’t like to run on the wheel, I would like to encourage her to exercise.
What should I include? They have the standard wheel, bottle, food bowl, hide box in their cage now(very cramped)
Any ideas?
P.S. I can’t use wood in the cage because they pee on it and then the smell never goes away.
