It’s a fantail goldfish and suprisingly unactive. I really don’t think it’s sick or anything, I checked and everything is perfectly fine. It’s only a 10 gallon tank so I can’t add another fish. It just sits there! Can I do anything to make it more interesting that won stress it out?

Hi I bought some cardinal tetras for my 65G tank about 5 months again, I had a school of 10, when i bought them all survived and they all looked like cardinals, i didn’t see anything special, they were just pretty. then a day ago i decided to up their school to 15 and bought 4 more for the time being, my old cardinals are about 2 inches long and the new ones are like 1 inch long, and the new ones RED coloration is NO WHERE near are bright and red as the older ones, but i don’t remmeber my old ones being that bright when i bought them at the petsotre, when i got them they were little too. my water quality is (ammonia0 nitrite0 nitrate 5-10 temp 78 pH 7.0-7.2 on test). so my q’s are:
do they color up with age, because that’s what i’m assuming?
does their food play a huge factor?
i don’t feed them anything special, just new life spectrum optimum fish flakes and maybe 1-2 a month some blood worms
however i’m leaning towards the age thing because it makes more sence to me, regardless the new ones are still pretty and while their schooling they ALL look beautiful, but when you single out the 4 news ones, you can tell they’re not as red as the older/bigger cardinals.
(ps the are not sick, nor do they look sick, the new guys are eating perfectly and other than being a lot smaller than my current cardinals, they actu just like them)
what do you think? am i on the right track?

I’ve decided to drop completely my plan for a 2.5 gallon tank as an extra to focus more on my 5 gallon plan, I know what you’re saying… “5 Gallons?! That’s nothing!” Yes…I know… But i’m a teenager who is a beginner fish keeper looking to upgrade from the regular bowl Betta. So, 5 gallon is what I have, and what I can fit considering I have a crowded room right now.
Anyways, my plan:
In the 5 gallon tank, I plan to keep 1 male/female Betta, 1 small mystery snail, an African dwarf from or some other type of fish.
I would really like another type of fish to keep with my Betta, but nothing schooling or that will bother the Betta.
I was thinking some kind of sucker/ bottom feeder fish (Not Chinese algae eater because I’ve heard they grow to big and are expensive. Feel free to tell me wrong though!)
I like the idea of having the frogs but I may just get 2 and put them in my 2.5 gallon.
Also, with the Betta, why is everyone so against shrimp? I Kinda would like to have 1-2 small cherry/ghost shrimp but everybody just tells me to forget about them Why is that?
Anyways what do you think I should do? I want the Betta for sure, I want shrimp more than a snail for a cleaner, and I want a sucker type fish more than frogs, but i’m still debating that one. What should I do? Which would be the best combination to fit my needs as a fish owner! That being I like fish activity, color, and variety (I know i’m limited by the tank size but work with me!)
Also as a last side note…Do I NEED a heater? I had a Betta before by himself in the 2.5 gallon with no filter, no heater or light hood. He was active, ate a lot, and lived a good… 4.5 years I believe! So do I need the heater?

I feel bad for my two Chinese Dwarfs, because all I have been able to provide them with is one 20 gallon fish tank. I have seen some really cool tanks where they have extra levels, but I don’t know how people make them. I tried but I found it difficult seeing as you can’t use tape, glue, or staples. I have also seen those cage toppers, but they’re $30 and so far I haven’t even seen good reviews on them! I usually take each hamster out individually every night to have 15 minutes running around my room in a hamster ball, I clean and rearrange they’re cage weekly, and I give them carrots and toilet paper rolls as treats, but I feel it’s not enough. Any good ideas to add some fun to my hamsters’ cage?

In my previous question, the Christian concensus is that Jesus’s actions spoke louder than his words:
<a href=http://answers.yahoo.com/question/i…
I see Jesus's actions were more directed at giving aid to people and not about prohibiting behavior. Based on what you know about Jesus, would someone emulating Jeusus today spend more time trying to prevent sin, like pouring large amounts of energy into fighting gay marriage, or would a Christ-like person spend more time feeding the hungry (bread into fish for the 5000), helping the sick (lazarus, the littel girl, lepers), and standing up for the persecuted (the prostitute being stoned)?
Are Gay people not being metaphorically stoned by some parts of society today? Jesus told the prostitute to Go and sin no more – but what if he new she would sin again? Would he still not have the compassion to stop the crowd from killing her?

I have 10 small feeder goldfish in a heated 5.5 gallon tank. We want to know if we can add 1-6 more small fish and a algae eater/cleaner?? What do you suggest?
