Should I Get Pet Mice?

I’m almost 15 and had a hamster that I took great care of, took him to the vet when he had mange, but he was from the pet store and sadly got so sick that we had to… well, I was so upset, I loved him.
This was a few months ago. We went to a different pet store where they have all these white mice. t was an open cage (no lid) so I put my hand in and this one was so friendly, climbing on my hand, sniffing it all over, even tested my finger to see if I was edible (not hard though). It was so adorable.
I already have a large cage I built. I used to have four mice in the past.
I have two dogs and two fish tanks in my room. I would have space for the cage.
What do you think?

can someone tell me all the facts they know, or some? like what bedding to use? any homemade stuff? papershredding? toilet roll ect?
what to feed em for a treat. How often do they breed?

Will 2 female mice smell bad?

Will they smell like a hamster or worse? How often will i have to clean the fish tank/cage?

cleaning fish tank that previously had mice in it?

hey
i’ve had my goldfish daphne for about 15 years now. recently my father got an old fish tank off one of his friends and gave it to me. it’s huge, and daphne will have a great time swimming in it, the problem is that it had mice in it before hand, and i’m wondering how will i clean so it will be suitable for my fish and not have any mice germs in it.

my father suggested milton and i had a look at that in the shop, but it says it’s harmful to “aquatic organisms”, so i don’t want to risk it.

any [non toxic to fish] ideas? thanks!

Opinions from mice owners?

I’m considering getting a pair of pet mice. I’ve done some research, but I’d like to hear from some actual owners what they think of mice as pets. I’d like to get two brothers. I’ve got a ten gallon with a thick wire top, I use aspen or boxo (shredded cardboard) for all my rodents, and feed mostly a fresh diet. I’ve already got some tubing which leads to a small house, some cardboard tubes for chewing, and a solid wheel for cage furnishings, and a watter bottle with suction cups for attaching to the inside of the aquarium. I’ll pick up chew toys when I get the mice.

Anything you recommend adding to my shopping list? What do you like/dislike about having mice? Anything else you’d like to mention is great too. (:
Thank you to those who mentioned size issues. In the several places I’ve been reading, it was suggested that up to four mice could be housed in a ten gal. I’d have hated to make such a mistake. I’m going to return the 10 gal this weekend and buy a larger tank or cage. The house is outside of the tank, just to specify. The top is made for rodents, and has removable spaces for tubing. The house rests just above the top, with slanted tubing leading up. I will also look into more housing, with more exits. Very good idea.

I do have a separate cage. Its a habitrail cage, 2ftx1f with 2in of plastic around the bottom and the remainder closely placed metal bars. It has its own wheel and adjoining house, as well as another trail of tubing around the outside. Two of my rescue rats came in it, and I haven’t used it since.
