How To Set Up A Beginner Marine Aquarium?

I currently have a 60l freshwater tank and I am going to start a marine tank, I am 12 and know a great deal about fish and water quality.
However saltwater marine is completely new to me and I need help with everything, literally everything.
If you could answer any of these things I’d be very grateful.
. Do I need a protein skimmer, and how do I maintain it and position it in the tank?
. What tanks are fairly inexpensive and good quality-around 60l?
. What kind of filter do I need?
.are corals very hard? What is basic coral care?
. How often would I have to do water changes?
. How long do clown fish and damsel fish live and are they easy to take care of?
And anymore useful info and tips would be much appreciated!

How Can I Convince My Mom To Let Me Have A Marine Tank In My Room?

i really want a marine tank in my bedroom at home, i’m going to ask my dad to set it up for me because he has a marine tank in his shop, and i’ll ask him about cleaning it and lights etc. i want to convince her to let me have one, she won’t have to pay for any of the setup or fish or anything, maybe food though. she gets annoyed easily and won’t tell me why i can’t have one. any help?

Hi I have a 46 gallon bowfront that I haven’t set in in 3 years in the basement. I am tired and bored wth freshwater tanks. I want to make this a fish only tank. I have 2 power heads, 46 pounds of live sand, 45 pounds of pre cycled reef rock, 2 aqua clear 50 filters and a HO t5 Light strip with 1 actinic bulb and a 10k bulb, hydrometer and salt mix. am I missing something as I only want to keep clown fish. How many can I get in that size tank? Thanks alot. Also is it safe to use a tank thats been sitting 3 years? will the silicone deteriorate?

What Would I Need To Set Up A 64 Litre (16/17 Gallon) Marine Tank?

I have a 64 litre tank previously used for a fresh water aquarium will this be suitable for a small setup with fish only no corals.
Would prefer not to use a protien skimmer. And would like to use live rock and sand alongside in tank filteration systems for filteration.
Any suggestions or reccomendations for good products.

Becoming A Marine Mammal Trainer Vs. Lawyer. Being Independent. Please Advice.?

Greetings. :)
My name is Nicole I am currently 14 years old. I am in the 9th grade at the moment and I am very serous about school, further more my future. I would like to tell you a bit about me if you do not think this is necessary skip the parentheses. ( I have dreamed about being a marine mammal Trainer sense 2009. I am a great public speaking and I am very outgoing as well as friendly. I love words and reading things in different ways. I am interested in crime law and Business law. My favorite animal is a killer whale. I am soon getting scuba certified and wish to volunteer at a non profit organization aquarium.) I am well aware that marine mammal trainers make as little as 8-13 dollars and 20-40k a year. I want to go to college for 4 years majoring in marine biology taking classes in animal behavior etc, Then I wanted to go to the same college for law for three years. I want to become a lawyer but part of my heart is saying to take my dream of being a trainer. I want to be independent.. not having to rely on people and only help them. I want to make a well living. well enough to raise a family. With barley any economical problems. I don’t no what to do. Lawyers give up most of there time to there job and marine mammal trainers put in 40 hours a week. I don’t want all this education to go as much as a high end waitress makes. I know I know “if you want to become a Trainer you can’t think about the salary.” The thing is I want to run my own aquarium so animals can have certain things that i wish i could make happen but I cant do that with that salary and I also want to be able to bond and help them.
So I was thinking maybe be a trainer then as professor ?? because they work very little a week, Or maybe be a practice law for awhile to buy a home to live in and be able to pay it off. I love apartments but I Absolutely hate the idea of non stop payment bills reminds me of a hotel. then start at an entry level … I don’t no.
I need your advice!!

Can I Put These Marine Fish Together?

can i put these fish in a 400 liter marine aquarium:
2 X common clown fish
2 X black and white clown fish
1X Regal Tang
maybe a blood shrimp
if those fish are okay together could i throw a Volitans Lionfish in there?

Marine Aquarium Testing Kits?

Hi,im going to be starting a marine tank.
and was wondering what are the most important water test kits i will definitely need.
the type of tank im hoping to set up would consist of fish/live rock/coral.
i know i would need tests kits for nitrite/nitrate/ammonia/ph.what other test kits are vital in setting up a tank like this? what brand of kits do you recomend?
