Greenish Moldy Flecks On My New Male Betta Fish? Is He Ssick?

I think my male halfmoon betta fish may be sick?
I bought a male betta fish last week. He eats like a little piggy. Today I noticed a greenish almost mold like tint under his mouth and there was a spot of it on his side. He has also been a little bit less active in the last two days but he will still eat when I feed him. He is in a tank that has an airpump and an overhead light. His water is cold, but the fish expert at petco said he didn’t need a water heater because it is the summertime. I feed him little tiny balls by the brand hikari. Does anybody know what these green tints/ spots are? He is a dark blue color.how do i cure it if he is sick???? Thank you! 10points to the best answer guarunteed.

Stretch marks that are starting to get bloody. There is only one major pet store in my town. Petsmart. I don’t know what to do with the female. Should I sell her? She has successfully mated before and this is her second time being full of eggs. If anyone lives close to Merced tell me some fish stores around there or of you can help me. She is healthy and a strong swimmer (normally). Please list some good aquarium salt brands or stress enzymes I can use to help her. I have bred bettas before, but I still am searching for the best way without going over the the top in expenses. Any non-strong current filters? I can only find 1-5 gallon ones that are not that strong when releasing the water. If you can find any big male bettas in a pet store that are blowing a whole bunch of bubbles, tell me because the male I have right now was from my parents as a birthday present and they know how to search for a healthy fish, but not for one that’ll breed well. Thanks in advance to good answers, but please answer quick, but still give good answers and no answers that have a cuss word in it please. :) (:)

Along with a bubbler also soft running.he has real plants and small gravel. My problem is that i keep getting an extreme amount of algee in the tank.ive tried doing a 3part water change & cleaning all the gravel etc.but still comes bk.can you help in anyway.

Male Betta and “koi”, “goldfish,” and “molly” compatibility :)?

Okay so after I had my lovely betta and molly idea shot down, I’ve designed a new stocking:
-1 male betta (bright blue)
-2 female koi swordtails (my koi)
-2 female gold wagtail swordtails (my black/gold goldfish)
-2 female black sword tails (my mollies/guppies)

It’s a 29 gallon tank, and it’s gonna have all the works (heater, 30-55 gallon filter, gravel, silk, and some live java fern) I’d fish less cyle it first, then add the female swortails 2 at a time probably and add mister betta last.

Would my stocking be okay?
(According to aqua advisor, it is:
Recommended water change schedule: 27% per week.
Your aquarium stocking level is 93% )

I don’t like to be the one to say this, as you’ve clearly got your heart set on this plan, but Swordtails and Bettas are a lousy combination.

Swordtails are nippy, and your Bettas fins would be unlikely to survive a tank of them.

IF this were going to work, it would be with your proposed females only. But I’d not attempt it without an available back-up tank for your Betta on the good chance it doesn’t.

What about Platies? They come in all sorts of colors, and they’re far more likely to behave themselves with a Betta.

Who Can My Male Betta Live Happily With In A Six Gallon Tank?

My male Betta is very sick with fin rot (very destructive) due to a huge amount of stress given by the presence of the following fish in his six gallon tank (I can’t get a tank bigger than that):
- I have two Angelfish (don’t know wether they’re male or female)
- Three Guppies (one female and two male)
- And a female Betta (who also has fin rot and recently horizontal stripes)
Obviously the only thing I can do to save my male Betta is to give some of those other fish back to the pet shop. I HAVE to give the female Betta back because the tank is small enough to put a divider in it, and having a second tank is out of the question unfortunately. Yesterday I was told that a couple of Angelfish would need at least a thirty gallon tank to live happily and stress-free. And I don’t really know wether I should give back the guppies or not.
My question is: besides giving back the female Betta and AT LEAST one of the Angelfish (unless you say both) and eventually the guppies, which fish could get along just fine with my male Betta in my six gallon aquarium so that he lives happily, stress-free and is able to grow his fins back (he even has some red parts on his fins now… he is blue :( … )???
Thanks in advance… and yeah I know I did wrong, but I wasn’t told anything at the petshop and my research before buying the fish may have not been that intense.

Sick Male Guppy – Very Thin + Protruding Scales?

50L tank: 7 guppies, 5 neons, 3 bumblebees & 2 bristlenose catfish.
Tank is about 3 months old (my old one started leaking and I had to change it fairly quick – fish powered through the cycling).
Parameters all 0 – pH 7, but keeps going alkaline.
I have another 25L tank and have no probs with it, just seems to be the bigger one that I’m having constant problems with and fish keep getting sick and dying on me.
So this is the most current fish thats sick and can’t find any disease with these 2 symptoms together. I’m worried he’s got some thing like TB and will spread it to all my other fish.
I am currently treating the tank with a broad spectrum & do not have a hospital tank.

i have 3 neon tetra’s in a 5 gallon tank, can i add my betta(that happily lives in a bowl) to the tank?
also can i add more tetra’s to the tank?
cause im not sure if the betta will well just destroy the other fish.

bettas r always incredibly physical, if the tetras r females it won’t work neither if they’re males but put ‘em in 2 c what occurs
