Why Is My Aquarium Water Have Very Fine Particles In It Making It Cloudy?

Ok first off i have a 20 g long tank with pretty much max number of fish. So first off i didnt have a filter big enough for my tank. I moved my tank away from the window and i left the windows shades open and with direct sunlight on it :/ i know but maybe that was my problem? Anyways i purched a bigger filter one thats might be my culprit. i have a marine land pegiun 200 bio wheel (meant for 30-50 g tanks) and it produces a strong current witch might be stirring up things. i do water changes. like 20% every two week its been bought a week sense last water change. (i used a gravel vac) i tried water clairier and it didnt work.
My water isnt green or brown. its clean with very fine particles in and around everywhere (its floating on top also) i thought maybe too much arietion but i cut it off for a night and it didnt work. Dont tell me to wait this out its been 3 months of this. i need expert help

I had tons of hermit crabs when I was little and I really want to start that again. I know what they need and all but I have a few questions.
Because I don’t want those cheap plastic cages, are glass fish tanks alright? Will the heater that comes with the one I want work or do I need something else?
Are they any other ways I can naturally make a crabitat without spending a whole lot of money on food, dishes, and things for them to climb on?

glass fish tanks are ideal … i got a free 10 gallon and a free 5 gallon from craigslist for my crabnation … they do not hold water for fish but are fine for hermit crabs … you could not use a fish tank heater as those need to be submerged in water … the best bet would be to get an undertank heater such as the exo terra under tank heater (http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/13138/product.web) … you would need a suitable substrate for them … home depot sells a bag of play sand for 5 dollars that will be enough for a year or two … you can make the water dishes from those zip-loc disposable containers, just bury in the substrate … make sure you have fresh and salt water for the crabs (salt as in marine salt not aquarium salt, and be sure both fresh and salt water are dechlorinated) … you can feed the crabs a variety of food that you and your family probably eat … fresh fruits and veggies … they need a form of calcium, a crushed up egg shell would do the trick … huts for them to hide in, you could just get a coconut from the grocery store, get someone to cut it in half and then you have two huts :O) i would invest in a humidity and temperature gauge, i bought one for under five dollars made by zoomed … and i personally would invest in stuff for them to climb on … if they are not in a stimulating environment, they are not going to be active or very stimulating to watch :O) if you want to get some good extra shells, check out ebay … i bought 35 shells, all different kinds, for under ten dollars …

Adult Turtle Encloser In The Making?

I have 6 baby turtles (4 red eared sliders, 1 yellow belly, 1 florida softshell)
they all live together right now, and are pretty close in size, I’d say from 3-4 inches max.
soon, I’ll have to move them out of their aquarium, and outside.
I was wondering what I could do for them.. are there any turtle pens out there that can be used for aquatic turtles? does anyone have any ideas or pictures I can go off of. I cannot install a pond because I’m only renting my house..
I also live in a pretty gated community in south florida so I can’t really make something too big! because the home owners assoc. probably wouldn’t tollerate it..
also what’s the best type of filter system for them, that’s not outrageously expensive.
what do you do for your turtles?
how much space would 6 turtles need? (square footage)
or what size tank could they live in for the next few years.
please help
does anyone have any good ideas? also, will I have to seperate them when they get older?
oh! and right now I feed them a diet of mostly live feeders (crickets, meal worms, feeder goldfish, shrimp.. etc) they are able to catch them in their aquarium, what are the odds of them being able to survive in the lake behind my house (where they’re probably from, because I found them in my pool a year or so ago) will they be happier in the lake? there’s a lot of swimming and basking space, they will always be in the sun, they’ll get some rain, be able to breed freely. what do you think?

Making Babys Nursery In My 3 Year Olds Room?

Okay so the theme in the room ive made the bottom half like a little fish aquarium and the top is light blue with clouds and a sun. im having a little girl and my 3 year old is a boy. i know at some point in time i will have to seperate the two of them but i dont have any extra bedrooms. i feel its a good idea but im not sure?? of course i will be keeping baby in her bassinet until shes a little bit older. any ideas for her nursey as to decorations? and is having both kids in the same room ok?

I Need Help Making A Choice.?

I restarted my tank because I got rid of my other fish because I had too many. So I restarted and I waited two days before getting a fish. I got 1 Zebra Danio because the pet store person said it was a good fish to start out a new tank with while you are in your cycling process. I have a 10 Gallon Tropical tank btw. And I was doing some researching and I found out that danios need to be in groups of 6+. So now I have 1 Zebra Danio in my 10 gallon tank and I think he might be depressed. Whenever I go to feed him, he just takes one littleish bite and that’s it. I don’t wanna get 5 more fish that are danios because I wanted to get guppies and maybe some platies. 
Btw I got my fish on May 2 2011 and he’s the only fish in my tank right now.
The tank water is clean and clear too
** Would it be ok if I got him one more buddy? (another Danio)
How many fish could I put in my tank at once? 

Making A Piranha Tank More Lively?

What could I do to liven up my piranha tank? I have 4 red belly piranhas. they are about the size of my hand or so…6 inches or a little more. I have two over top filters that produce current. aswell as a power head that creates current. back then this worked in getting the piaranhas active and swimming….but I guess now that they are bigger this doesnt faze them. they all just gather on one side of the aquarium now and will only move around when i put food in to feed them. the tank temp is around 85-87 degrees. would introducing more piranhas make the tank more lively??

Its not a new set up and its gravel filtered and I do part water changes regularly. Its a 30 gallon tank and I have had 2 med- sized fish in it for 8 years or so and this has only started in the past 2 weeks. I’m doing the same as I always do and I’ve no chemicals in except stress coat at water change. I haven’t changed their flake food or done anything different but I can’t think what’s causing it.

So it’s the first Christmas I am having with my boyfriend that I have been dating for almost a year now.. So I wanted to make it very romantic and note-worthy. So the plan for the day is :
1) I am going to take him to either the Aquarium, Zoo lights, or Ice skating. (Which do you think?)
2) I am planning on giving him a stalking full of sentimental gifts..
3) And I want to make him a nice dinner.. But I have no idea what to make him.. What do you all think?? What would be a romantic and delicious dinner that a guy would love on Christmas and really shows how much I love him?
4) Finally I am planning on bringing him outside and having him look up at the stars because I bought him a star. :]
Do you think this is a stupid idea?
