How do I make my gold fish bigger and live longer?

I have three fish in a small rectangular tank; had them for almost a year now and they have grown to about the size of a orange pill bottle you get at the pharmacy; but they have been dying off. (I started off with seven).

I have a semi aquatic map turtle and it seems like her water gets cloudy just a couple days after i change it. It’s a 25 gallon tank and has a reptile filter for that size. Should i get a bigger fillter? Is there any fish i could put in to help get rid of the waste or maybe snails? I usually do have some ruby reds in there for her to eat….would she just eat the snails or no?

Tips for longer Betta fish life?

Hey,
I’ve had 2 male bettas in the past, (at separate times, I didn’t keep them together). Both lived for only 8-9 months.They were in a 5 gallon tank, I cleaned their water once in 2 weeks, used de-chlorinators, anti bacterial drops, fed them once a day. They were happy fish, they built bubble nests and would flare at their reflections, they were active and everything was fine but they both passed away after 8-9 months.
I brought home a new male betta for Xmas, and I need help is to how I can make his life happier and healthier and help him live longer than 8-9months.
You need to know that where I live, there are no medicines available for fish ailments. There are very general medicines available which are not very effective. So pls give me some tips as to how I can keep my pet healthy and happy.

i have some plant sin my 55 gallon tank. it was used but i bought a new filter and didn’t set the tank up for a few days so the bacteria in the gravel probably died. but i did have some gravel from my ten gallon but barely any. i’ve been feeding the tank once a day since it has been set up (for a week) i’ve been using fish food, i also added stress zyme in the tank and followed the instructions on that so i did it last friday and this friday.

Cycling fish tank longer then 6 weeks?

I have set up a fish tank and its been cycling for almost 8 weeks. I have noticed the ammonia goes up, then the nitrite goes up and the ammonia goes down but the nitrate is still undetected. Is this normal or Have I screwed something up. If I am not mistaking the ammonia and nitrite is supposed to drop and the nitrate supposed to rise and do a water change. I did one water change since I started the tank because the ammonia and the nitrite was too high according to the test.

Current residents of the tank:
3 blue guppies
1 molly
1 loch

So how long does it take to completely cycle the tank? HELP!

i am trying to figure out how to keep my fish tanks clean longer. I have a filter for my big guppies, and i have another filter that is currently not being used. i put it in with my guppies babies, but it sucked in a couple and they died. I’m sick of having to clean there tank every week or two, but i am not about to give away the fry. is there any filter fry will defenatly not get sucked into? i no cory catfish will clean the bottom of tanks but will they eat the fry?? help!

I set up a 56gal freshwater tank about 3 months ago and put 3 fish in. A Firemouth Cichlid, a Bala Shark and a Jack Dempsey. Don’t be alarmed i didn’t think these fish would get along with the Bala shark either but it has been great!! they get along awesome!! Anyways, it has been three months and my Jack Dempsey has not really grown. Does anyone know how much longer aproxx. this will take?
