why cant i fix the ph levels in my fish tank???? please help?

i have a 55 gall0on fish tank wen i check the ph its at its highest like 7.6. ive been trying to fix it for a week now. i have the color code chart and it statrts at 6.0 obviously and ends with 7.6 my level is worse than 7.6 would i put in ph up or ph down on the color code chart u would want it to go up to 6.0 but technicaly u would use down cuz its so high. i know this all sounds confussing but if u have knowledge with fish and tanks you will know what im talking about. what should i be using up or down y wont it fix. could this be why my fish see very inactive?

What could have caused the high ammonia levels in my aquarium?

I have a 35 gallon freshwater aquarium. I’ve had it for a number of months. I do about a 50% water change once a week, or every couple of weeks. I also have a test kit so that I can test ammonia, nitrite, etc. My question: I found one of my angel fish dead on the bottom of the tank yesterday. I have only had him for 6 months or so. He wasn’t showing any signs of illness and wasn’t lethargic. I just did a partial water change the week before. When I tested the ammonia levels they were elevated. What caused this? Every other time I have tested the ammonia levels were at zero. (Btw, there were 2 angel fish, 2 bottom feeders, 3 mollies and a few guppies in the tank, so it didn’t seem overcrowded)

Do live plants in the fish tank help to reduce nitrate levels?

How long does it take for ammonia levels to rise?

I’ve been doing a fish less cycle adding fish food for 4 days and the readings still say 0.25 ppm…I also added stress zyme last week. Does it take a while for it to go up? And how much should it go up to for me to stop feeding the tank? Do i cut the feeding in half when the ammonia drops to 0? The water is also a dirty greyish color but not cloudy…..is this good during the cycle? Please answer these in order because i never get a full answer on here. Thanks :)
hi well i’v only used stress zyme once so is it too late now? do i have to do a huge water change? this whole this is so stressful i always do everything wrong!! I just want fish…

help! How do I bring my nitrite levels down?

Please help!
I have a 25 litre or 5.5 gallon tropical tank.
It has been fully cycled for 6weeks and I have just introduced my fish.
One betta called Banzai
Two suckermouth
5 Guppy’s
Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 5.0
PH 7.8
Nitrate 80
I have put dechlorinator in all my water changes and changed 40% tonight.
I’m not too sure how to clean the gravel as my cleaner is too big for the tank so i’ve been using a turkey baster to suck the excess food.
I’ve had one death of a guppy
Filter is fine have a bubble wall too!
Feeding is my biggest concern as i’m sure i have not given them nearly enough food but there seems to be leftovers!

what do these levels mean?

I have 2 tanks running, one 6 gal and one 40gal, both relatively new (since christmas)

I’ve lost 3 fish and a few molly fry in the past few days (only from the big tank), so ran out and bought nitrate, nitrite and ammonia test kits. (yes I’ve been one of those poor saps who was convinced by evil chain pet stores that pH levels were more important and didn’t know about the others)

So here are the readings I have:

Large tank: ammonia .25, nitrate 10 (closest), nitrite 5(closest)
Small tank: ammonia .5, nitrate 0, nitrite 2

So what does this mean? Is it why i’m losing fishies?Recommendations on how to lower the levels which need lowering?

Cichlid Ammonia Levels?

We have a 29 gallon tank that has been running for about a week an a half and has had fish in it for about a week. I know that’s to quick but no one had informed us of that until recently. Well anyway we had some dying fish so we did a 60-70% water change a few days ago because they told us we may have high ammonia levels and that was what to do. We used prime water cleanser during that change. Our remaining fish are twice the size of the ones who died and seem fine. One did not eat this morning but I think that’s because she was constipated (Even though we have been soaking the food and being careful to only give them enough for them to eat in five minutes.) We just got a tested and our levels are at 1 ppm. Should we do another water change with prime? If so how much? Someone said that a change could be to much of a shock so we are a little nervous to do the change.

How do I check the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, calcium, pH levels and copper in my salt water aquarium?
