Okay…I’ll try to make this short. While vacationing last spring…I met my current boyfriend. I was lost and needed directions, and we got talking after he finished giving me directions and really hit it off. We had a great week together, there was alot of attraction and emotionally/mentally we are really compatible. We never had sex so don’t worry, he isn’t one of those spring break deals.
Anyway…I live 800 miles from him, and because I am a few years younger, we are in very different places in our lives. I’m 18, a freshmen in college, with four years to go. He’s 22, done with school, but is at that stage where he is still figuring his life out. But we are VERY into one another…its just I have an issue with our communication skills and it bothers me.
The first 2 months when I went back home after vacation…were wonderful. We wrote each other letters (well i wrote him, he never wrote me), we talked on the phone ALOT (usually for at least an hour almost everyday. Then 2 months later, I felt like the calls were fewer and farther between…so I warned him that we needed to keep in touch better or we would lose our relationship. He didn’t change…I would call him up and get his vm, he would return my call days later, even if i called him everyday in between with no luck. But when we did talk on the phone he still seemed genuinely head over heels for me. I got sick of this routine and decided to make the move…but it hurt to break up with him. Of course he wouldn’t answer so I broke up with him over voicemail. He then called me back saying he wasn’t happy but as long as I was happy …he didn’t want to talk long though…I could tell it had upset him. So then I didn’t hear from him for about 45 days, absolutely no contact. Then, out of the blue….he calls me one day…he tells me that he misses talking with me, says how my new fb pics are so beautiful and he really wants to call me more often, if that was alright? I had been missing him…kind of disappointed he didn’t put up more of an arguement when i broke up with him. So it was great to hear his voice and I told him he could call me whenever, that I would like it.
So then we talked about every ten days…they were always lovely talks. One night he revealed that he’d never stopped loving me. He wasn’t dating anyone else and he hoped I still felt the same way for him because I am his dream girl, everything he’s ever wanted. I did still feel very much in love with him, so I told him so. We were so happy knowing that, but it wasn’t really official.
I didn’t hear from him for awhile so I gave up…again..I tried dating someone else…I mean its college lol. Cept when I was with my boyfriend (the new one i’ll name Kyle) I couldn’t help but think of him. I had to break up with this Kyle because I wasn’t over my old boyfriend and comparing was not nice. Well my old boyfriend started talking to me ALOT yet again because he saw that I had dated Kyle briefly.
Now…we are webcamming, writing letters (now he writes too), and calling each other. But I feel like we are falling into the same pattern…for example…
I asked him to call me this weekend (I think thats very reasonable!) and he said, “I will if i have time ok I am going fishing with my brother” wth…am i high maintainance or is he not worth it?
