i have 3 feeder guppys (1 male 2 females) and when i got home from school one female had some black dots on her.is she sick.you might think im crazy but i think i might of mistaked her as a girl.she is young.is my fish realy a boy?

Am a libra he is a scorpio I give him full of attention as in compliments and talking this is how libra do it and he winks at me when he says hello and asks how is my day and stuff we are completly different as in i am sooo outgoing he is not but he has friends he loves pubs i am more of a clubbing person parties getting crazy i am into engineering calculations science building exploring creating and inventing maths physics films (music) and aggressiveness he is more of a sport dude but he doesnt seem as i coming on strong because he looks so romantic long hair very into cooking, fishing poker game, literature and poetry i assume cuz he has a venus in libra so as mercury but for some reason i feel this connection with him when i see him i intensely feel I want to be with him he drives me crazy even though we dont talk in depth just what we like hobbies and every day life work and etc and i actually met him in his work he noticed that i always go there and order and then i asked one of his friends his name so i added him on facebook and from there we got to know more but I am sick of starting on facebook but he starts when he sees me always smiley and everything and i realized now when he sees me coming in and i order he actually looks at me then continuos to work as in he knows am here anyways so yea I was wondering if he is into me or not the signs that i get from him when he sees me he talks and smiles and feels a comfortable around me now and i do give him compliments about his body and he goes all shy like looks away I guess I showed him enough interest :-/ this is just tiring me !! anyways suggestions please.

I have a gold fish in my fish bowl it is about 1 or 1.2 liters so can i put a tank cleaner fish into my fish bowl..?

Dust Got Into My Fish Tank, And Is Not Getting Filtered. And Is Now On My Fish!! How To Clean Fish?

Some of the dust settles on top… some is circulating… And it starting to get stuck to my Fish…
I cross checked for Velvet disease and Ich/ick and Hopefully that is not the case.

I did my best to skim some of it off with an algae sponge, but still some dust is left.
I have not tried to use Accu-clear yet… will that help?
I can think of ways to get rid of the floating dust… BUT HOW DO I CLEAN MY FISH?
I have a Ten gallon tank that I recently 20% water changed. And the filter is fairly new as well.

I am a new aquarium hobbyist and after much debate, I’ve decided to go ahead and set up a freshwater tank (salt water tanks, although beautiful, seem like alot of work for someone new like me!). I guess I’m really looking for ideas and suggestions. I love goldfish and they seems pretty easy to maintain, but what other compatible fish can I add to my tank for variety? Also, do I need to purchase “cleaner” fish for a freshwater tank (like catfish or shrimp)?

If you like goldfish, just stick to goldfish – there are not too many compatible fish, and they are very messy and grow very large, so you’ll need the space anyway.

“cleaner” fish are optional – there are a number of varieties that will certainly work with goldfish and they can do a great job at cleaning up leftover food, but they will also need to be fed since this usually is not enough in itself to sustain them (not for catfish anyway). When it comes to freshwater tanks I highly recommend not buying fish to do a job – buy a fish because you like them and consider any cleanup they do an added bonus. Simply feeding properly and doing weekly gravel vacuuming with your water change, combined with a decent filter, will take care of the mess.

Beware of algae eaters. They tend to grow big, many get territorial, they are very messy, and they tend to do a lousy job on algae anyway, especially as they grow larger. Best to deal with algae with your own two hands.

For Christmas my parents are getting me a 40 gallon fish tank with plant and gravel and junk plus a small water cleaner but if I set up the tank and everything the day before so the water gets to room temp. Then just put in all the fish( 3ish balla sharks and 1 rainbow shark then a few other random fish)at once will they die or do I have to do it 1 at a time?

i usually dont use carbon in my filter but i am finishing up treating my aquarium with api general cure as a preventive because i just added a new fish and i want to quarantine him.its a 10 gallon and i want to know, no.1 if i really need to add carbon after treatment and no2. if so how long should i keep it in until i can remove the carbon once again? thanks!

a lot of pet stores will tell you that u do but u really dont need any of that crap
