Community Fish Tank: 20 Gallon Fresh Water Aquarium

Community Fish Tank: Fresh Water Aquarium This is the Catspit Productions fresh water community aquarium or fish tank. It is about 8 months after the first aquarium video was posted. Since then I have had to remove all live plants due to fish eating them. They just wouldn’t let them grow. I also had a bout with ick and lost several fish over time. That was ok because I wanted to add better fish. So this is the new and improved aquarium. This tank is a 20 gallon, high with 2 Aquaclear outboard or hanging filters. One filter is a #70 or 300 gallons per hour filtration and it is set up like a normal filter with carbon, ammo carb, and filter medium. The second filter is a #50 or a 150 gallon per hour filtration. This smaller unit is set up with activated charcoal only. This is like a booster for clarity and toxins. It works very well and I can go over the maximum number of fish allowed for this volume tank. About 20 to 25 fish up to 1.5 inches each. This tank is about 1 and 1/2 years old and has been moved once. All of the plants are live but rather new. With a plecostomus and catfish, the tank is literally self cleaning. The filters are cleaned and changed once every month and that is all. Very easy maintenance. The light is a standard fluorescent tube that is left on for daylight simulation and turned off for night mode. The light is set on a timer. A few of the fish are over 2 years old and have been with the tank since the beginning. Royalty Free Music Credits: “Long Note

Help, How Can A Pill Bug Be In My Fresh Water Fish Tank?

I just went to feed my fish and I saw what looked exactly like a pillbug/roly poly in my fish tank! Is this normal? I have been looking everywhere on the net to try to find this out and can’t. Its gray and like I said looks like a regular roly poly like what you’d find outside. I didn’t put it in there, and I keep my tank clean. I have no clue how it got in there. I’ve had this tank for over a yr and never seen this before. What is going on?

Q&A: Brita Filter water for a fresh water a aquarium!?

Question by ^_^: Brita Filter water for a fresh water a aquarium!?
So i have filled my tank with Brita filtered water. We have very hard tap water round here so i thought it might help get some of the bad stuff out. I did an ammonia test just because i was curious and i found that tap water actually contains less ammonia than the filtered water!…wtf? Why is that?

Best answer:

Answer by Mohammad F
When the water is made safe for people to drink the people who make the water safe to drink put loads of chemicals and irons which reduces the amonnia and it might be because ur filter is just bad and it has lots of ammonia in it already try getting a new filter and try testign the water again

Fish Compatibility Fresh Water Aquarium?

I have two Opal Gouramis, four Zebra Danios, four Neon Tetras, two Red Finned Tetras, one Yoyo, one Pictus Catfish, three Ghost/Glass Catfish, one Sailfin Pleco, and one Spotted Pleco.
I have a 33 gallon tank at the moment, and I keep the temperature at 78/79 degrees.
How hard/soft should my water be? What about PH levels? In the long run will there be any territory issues regarding them?
I am also aware I should increase my tank size in future for size and movement of my fish.
I am also going to get Red Line Torpedo Barbs once I increase in size, will that effect the hard/softness and PH levels required to sustain a good tank?
