My blackfin shark started floating around on his side but he was barely alive. This afternoon he was dead.?

What could have caused him to die? I have a snail in the tank with him. The snail tries to eat him now. I put Aquarium salt in last night and after that is when he started doing this. I woke up this morning and thats when he was floating around on his side but barely alive. I came home from work today and he was dead. Im going to get another one tomorrow but i need to know what this symptom could be so the next one wont die too. Could it be the aquarium salt? I also put some hardy aponogeton bulbs in too last night.

Reef tank free floating algae eaters?

I have a 12 gallon nano reef tank. With the sun dropping in thsky, it is now shining through a window onto the side of my tank for about two hours a day.

As a result, there is algae floating on the surface of the tank – it completely covers the top.

The tank contains polyps, soft corals, an anemonae, two clows and a crocea clam – so shutting the lights and blockiing the sun for a few days is not an option (or atleast not a good one), and I would like ot avoid moving the tank if possible.

Are there any small fish, or reef inverts, that will filter this algae off the top?

My fish tank is green? My snail is floating?

I used to have a aquarium, 8 gallons. it had about 6 fish in it and it turned green! we would clean it about every other day, and it would turn green still! what happend? we finally got rid of it with some water medication but why did it happen? Also, i used to have a golden apple water snail and it would float on top of the water. and when the filter would push it down, it would just fly right back up! why? he is dead now but not because of the floating, because my fish attacked him.

How long do I wait before putting my pregnant Platy in a floating breeder box?

I have 3 pregant Southern Platy and 1 pregant Glowlight Tetra. They have been noticeably pregnant for a couple of weeks. The tank is 300l/80 Gallon. I also have 2 more Platy, 4 more Glowlights, 2 Dwarf neon Gourami, 3 Dwarf honey Gourami, 4 Glass Cats, 2 Goldfish and 1 Gibby Plec.
