They are 3 seperate questions.

1) When I was cleaning my fish tank in the bathtub, the drainage stopper (not sure the name, turn it to elevate so the water can drain) fell off when I pushed the heavy tank to the faucet. I found that a copper rod inside was broken. It could still hold the water when put it on, but won’t turn. I have to lift it to drain the water.

2) The second question was a long time mystery to me. In one bathroom, I saw the shower head but never figure out how to use that. So we dedicate this bathroom to our toddler daughter since she only needs bath. I have used scores of different bathrooms at various hotels and many apartments and never had a problem to figure out how to use that. The house was built in 2002 and it is not too exotic at all. Is that possible that it was just built that way. Didn’t have chance to ask the previous owner.

3) At one time I fixed a leaking faucet. It got fixed, but I had to turn in the opposite way to do everything. Why?
