How Many Fancy Goldfish For A 50 Gallon Aquarium?

Two whisper 60 filters going… Would do live plants except the goldies would eat them all… Do fantails like heat? I was thinking 4-5 fish as people have said something like 1 fancy Goldie per 10 gallons. I was thinking of getting a black moor or two, an oranda, and maybe some veil tails.
Thoughts, ideas, advice? I’m pretty experience keeping fish and until recently had a thriving aquarium filled with rummynose tetras until someone brought a friend over who thought t would be fun to see what happens when you drop a soapy malachite rock in an aquarium…
Anyway… Love to hear what you think.

Is A 2.5 Gallon Aquarium Big Enough For 2 Fancy Telescope Goldfish?

I know that fancy goldfish should have 10 gallons each, but i already have 2 of them and i dont have the money to buy a big aquarium. I know it was a stupid idea buying 2, but i saw this 2.5 gallon aquarium with a filter and pump. is that good enough?
I will do my best to keep them healthy without going over my budget.

Q&A: What coldwater fish can you mix with fancy goldfish?

Question by NoName: What coldwater fish can you mix with fancy goldfish?
Hello,
I am thinking of setting up a coldwater aquarium.
The tank I am getting is an Aqua One 620t fish tank which has a 130 litre capacity and a good filtration system.
I would add 3 fancy goldfish (1 Black Moor, 1 Oranda, 1 Ryukin).
I was wondering what smaller species, if any, I could mix with them.

Also, are there any species of cleaner catfish that I could add?
Would be grateful for any replies,
Cheers!

Moor And Fancy Goldfish Eggs Or Not?

I have a moor fish and a fancy goldfish in a tank together and today I found a white chunk sitting at the bottom of the tank. Now I don’t think it’s a fugues or something like That because I just cleaned it. Do you think it’s eggs?

a new breed of Fancy guppy? (the seahorse guppy)?

Question by Question_77: a new breed of Fancy guppy? (the seahorse guppy)?
i’ve been breeding my guppies for show quality and possibly admitting them to a fish show near NC, U.S.

i have been breeding my fish and lately i have 5 types coming out of my batches:
*The VERY fancy (show quality)
*The fancy (Petsmart quality)
*The semi fancy ($ .25-.50 worth)
*The Plain guppy (feeder guppy pretty much. lol)
*& the a.k.a. Seahorse guppy

These “seahorse guppy” have a genetic defect, and its their spine that has it. They have a twisted spine making them look rather like a “seahorse” and they look rather cute. Although some of these didnt make it along the way, most of mine currently have a life span of 2 years like any other guppy. Some of them are plain, while others are VERY colorful. so far 7 generations have come with this “defect” and all of them live happily by themselves in a species tank.

Would you call this a new breed like the BALLOON molly (another genetic disordered fish breed)?

Hate, spam, agree, disagree comments are welcome. ;)
it is true that some of the common defects in guppy fry such as a bent spine makes them live not long and yet my 7 generations of these seem to thrive very well… hmmm… perhaps i should patpend this breed? lol… ;D

I suppose you could give them a new name such as the seahorse guppy seeing as that’s what they resemble, but they don’t live long, and they’re not the healthiest of guppies.

What Could I Put In My 55gal Fish Tank Along With My Fancy Goldfish And Violet Gobby?

I have a 55 gallon tank that already has one fancy goldfish and a dragonfish (violet gobby). About half of the bottom of the tank is sand, the other part is gravel. It’s heated to be about 76 degrees, and I put in a slight amount of aquarium salt. Not enough for it to hurt the fish in it, but it’s there.
I was wondering what else would be ok in there? The fancy goldfish is about the size of a baseball, so I’m not worried about it getting eaten. I was going to put some loaches in to help clean the gravel. I also have a male beta fish in a separate tank. Normally, I wouldn’t think of putting them together, but since the goldfish is so big I don’t think the beta would pick on it, but I’m not sure. Overall, I was wondering what sort of bottom feeding fish I could put in, along with any normal fish that wouldn’t bother the goldfish or make it too crowded for him.

Do Female Fancy Mice Stink?

I really want to get a fancy mouse but I am really worried that they stink. I have a cage for her well them because I want to get two females. I have had a MALE dwarf hamster in the past and he stunk so bad that I had to get rid of him. I love mice! But are they smelly, I have been doing a lot of reading online and still am not convinced I can get a female fancy mouse and they won’t stink. They would be in either shredded paper bedding or carefresh. They will have a couple houses a tunnel, water bottle, food bowl, wheel, a block to nibble on, and that is about everything. I will clean them once a week.
Also I have a fish tank light and hood for the glass cage, will this work and will it help lessen the smell? Please no mean comments, I have just had a bad experience with hamsters so please any advice would be great!
