red eared slider.. what thing do i need to add to my turtle tank!?

What kind of UV lighting do I need for a 40cm x 40 cm aquarium for my Red Eared Slider Turtle????

-My aquarium is around 40 cm x 40 cm (square shape) and has a height of around 20cm
-I have a water filter
-I dont need a heater because I have a thermometer and it shows me the water degree which is usually around 27-28 C
- My RES is around 8-9 months old and is about 9-10cm
- I feed him veggies, dry shrimps etc.

I want to know what kind of UV lighting is required for my RES. The Walt, type etc.

Thanks in advance

P.S. Advice and suggestions are highly appreciated. I dont wanna buy something off ebay without knowing for sure what I need is right.
I went to that website you gave me there buddy but I couldnt find anything related to turtles. Give me the full link about RES if you know of any. Thanks
compact uv bulb, but what about the walt? i dont want to burn my RES by getting something too strong for him.

How do you keep a plastic red eared slider tank from turning green?

It is a large, plastic tank that is cleaned weekly, but for some reason it has turned green in a few different spots on the bottom.
Is there a certain way to clean it to get the green off?

and we do have a few plants (like you buy at petsmart for fish tanks) in with him.

Red eared slider turtle help?

My sister bought me a baby red eared slider from Chinatown, NY while I was away on vacation after I had mentioned that I wanted a pet turtle. (I know that it’s illegal however I was not the one who bought the turtle and I can afford to take care of him, I’m also very responsible and work at a nature and science center that deals with some turtle species) I just got back today and my turtle is only the size of a half-dollar. He is currently in a very small tank, maybe 5 gallons? And my sister has been feeding him reptomin floating sticks twice a day. I wanted to know if that is feeding him too much or not? He currently has a little spot to bask and is only in a few inches of water. Tomorrow I plan on going to a pet store like petco or petsmart to buy him everything he needs. I know he needs a bigger tank and UVB lighting, a heater, and filter. I also wanted to know how many watts his UVB light should be and how do I keep my turtle from burning himself on the heater? Also, what temperature should the basking spot be and what temperature should I put the heater on? Also, what should I be feeding him other then the reptomin pellets and how often? Is he too young to be eating feeder fish and will he eat those can o’ crickets and other products like that? Lastly, is it ok to handle him and how much handling is too much? I picked him up a few times since I got home and my mother told me that if I handle him too much I will stress him out and he will die. Is this true? I know I had a lot of questions but I thank anyone who answers! I just want to provide the absolute best care possible for my little guy!
they are illegal to sell if they are under 4 inches because they have a risk of carrying salmonella and little kids and babies would stick the turtles in their mouths when they are small which would give them salmonella in some cases. Thats why they need to be above 4 inches, so you can’t fit them in your mouth as easily!

Please help! *possible* shell rot on my red eared slider?!!?

I just got a baby red eared slider about two or three weeks ago. He finally just started eating, he’s in a 10×20 inch tank with about 4 inches of water and no more than that. He has a basking lamp that I bought at petsmart as well as a 75W night glo blue light for when he’s sleeping. He also has a basking dock that he climbs in, rocks at the bottom of his tank a filter, a plastic plant and a calcium turtle that disolves in the water and a feeder fish that I just put in there today…Well he seems pretty happy but other than that he has this really tiny dot of crust on his shell. I have a feeling it’s mild shell rot, also the sides of his shell is slightly curling up. I really want to take good care of him and I’m freaking about because I don’t know what to do! I just bought this vita shell cream today and I don’t know whether or not I should use it on him because I read that it could stop his shell from growing and that it could trap bacteria in his shell. I really don’t know what to do. I was going to take him out of the water and put him in a little shoe box with his lamp slightly over it so he could dry out a little bit. Is that okay to do?

Other than that he seems like a healthy little turtle he’s just very scared of the tiny fish I put in his tank today also I tried feeding him a live earthworm today and he just looked at it and swam away and hid lol. He only eats cooked turkey what should I do about that?

Also he constantly sleeps in the water is that healthy for him? I bought him in China town so I don’t think he was ever properly taken care of before. :( He’s only a baby and he has gotten bigger since I’ve had him, he’s about two inches and two centimeters. I know their really hard to take care of but that’s why I have him :)

By the way sorry that this is so long with so many questions I just need help!!

Can red eared sliders live with wild paited turtles?

Ive had two red eared sliders (one for a year and one for three) Both almost adult size and my sister brought me a painted turtle that was crossing the road somewhere in Romeo Mi.

(Im pretty sure its a boy due to the nails)
Just a baby, but he seemed okay when I added him to my aquarium.
He seems healthy and outgoing with the other turtles.

Is this okay?
My two turtles are rather friendly.
