I have a 10 gallon established tank with a red wag in it and cory catfish. My betta fish is in his own 2.5 gal tank but I have had issues getting it to stay a proper temperature and clean (lately I have had to change the water twice a week to keep it clean). My betta is having issues now and has fin rot. I really would like to put him in the 10 gal tank with the other two fish but I’m not sure if he would fight either of them. Any advice would be appreciated.
I have a 180 liter (approx. 48 gallon) cycled aquarium. I have 3 Pitbull Plecos and 4 Pearl Gouramis (2 of each sex). Today I wanted to add a school of Corydoras.
I went to my usual fish shop, which I’ve never had any problems with. The guy there said it would be fine to have 2 different types of Corys, 3 each to make a school of 6. So I bought 3 Panda Corys and 3 Leopards.
I got them home and carefully adjusted them to the tank before releasing them. 5 of the Corys are doing wonderful. They already made themselves at home. They are swimming around everywhere on the bottom, checking out the sunken pirate ship and live plants and even ate a good meal tonight. But 1 of the Leopards doesn’t seem right.
He won’t join the rest of the group. He hides out in the corner not moving much. He won’t eat anything. He also did a very strange thing, he swam to the surface and then sort of rolled around in circles back to the bottom of the tank.
I checked my water levels and everything is fine. So what could be wrong with this little guy? I already e-mailed the fish shop and I’m waiting for a reply back. But in the meantime, I thought I would ask here.
Thanks!
5 of my 6 Panda Cory Catfish eating a shrimp pellet. Also appearing are a few Cherry Barbs who love to chew on the pellets and a Platy who swims through to observe the frenzy. Finally, 9 Rasboras love to hang around waiting for food particles to get scared off the bottom, but 1 female does her best to keep the other 8 away.
Here is my 90 gallon that I added fish to for the first time after 4 months of cycling…plenty more neon tetras and plants to come. the soil takes a while to trust. also great to have my boy steve pop in. He’s a fellow fish man…
I just got 3 buenos aires tetras and two panda cories to complete their shoals within my 30 gallon tank. They are currently in my hospital/quarantine tank before they they go into the 30 gallon. How long should I keep them in this seperate tank to make sure that they don’t have any problems. I ask because the last set I got introduced ich to my tetras and I don’t want that to happen again. Thanks!
