is a coralife aqualight better than t8 flourescent?

i am starting a planted aquarium and am debating whether to buy a dual 96 watt t-5 aqua light from coralife or use 3-4 t-8 fluorescent flora-glo 2 light bulbs? i currently have a 50 gallon tall tank. and am not using any co2. thank you for your time.
