What causes fish to turn completely white, die, and not float to the top of a fresh water aquarium?

I have a 5g aquarium that consisted of a blood fin tetra, a sunburst platy, a regular female beta, and a pleco. They were all fine and very happy, till yesterday. I walked in to feed them yesterday morning to find a very disturbing site. My tetra and platy were completely white and dead! If that wasn’t weird enough, their bodies weren’t floating!
I’ve had many fish over the last few years, and I’ve never seen such a sight! Concerned for the other fish, I immediately changed the water and thoroughly cleaned the tank. I am worried about my fish however, and would appreciate any help as to why this could of happened.

P.S. : There was air is the tank, there wasn’t a chemical problem, and the water was okay.

Male Johanni Cichlid completely changed and looks ill, help diagnose?

I have two male Johanni cichlids in my tank and one has always been a little smaller than the other. i’ve had them with the same fish, in the same tank, in the same water for about 6 months now. I went on vacation for 6 days and had my father watch and feed the fish, but of course he didn’t take note of anything different.. When i left, the more vibrant and most dominant fish of the tank was the bigger of the two Johanni, which had been the way for 6 months. I got home yesterday, and for the very first time, the smaller Johanni was chasing the big one! he was nipping and dominating all over the tank! what he heck? how did this change so fast?
Now that i saw the tank for the first time in 6 days, i noticed there is a spot on the bottom where the substrate was shifted so much that it’s all the way down to the glass in a large circular shape, could the two have gotten in a fight in this spot?
Also, the bigger fish is hiding between the filter return and the heater, hiding with all of his fins retracted and his mouth around his lips are all dull colored and it almost looks like a sore. Additionally, he’s repeatedly making this weird movement with his mouth, like a violent readjustment to his jaw.

please, if you have any ideas as to what happened or what’s wrong with his mouth, leave an answer, thanks.
I forgot to menchon, he also won’t eat anything

I have completely cleaned my goldfish tank, and the filter. Fish now seem distressed! What can I do?

Recently completely cleaned and changed water in goldfish tank. Also totally cleaned the filter with clean water. Since learned I should not have totally cleaned the filter and it destroys the balance of the eco system. Fish appear distressed – staying at bottom of tank. The tank water itself is cloudy with a layer of foam on top. I have partially changed the water to try to eradicate this and so far appears to have go rid of most of the foam. Is there anything else I should be doing?

my pet fish completely immobile in the aquarium. is something wrong with him?

i have discovered that one my pet fish in the aquarium has not been moving for the past several hours. He keeps staying in one spot all the time. All other fishes are moving and swimming, here are there.

But somehow he just does not seem to respond or swim at all. I tried to do some hand signals from outside the aquarium glass, in front of his face but he still won’t swim at all.

How do I completely clean a dirty(FILTHY) fish tank (has fish in it)?

Basically…
The fish tank has been around since January 2010. It has not been cleaned once
The filter has not been changed
It has approx. 24 fish in it, 21 guppies, 1 female beta, & 2 bottom feeders (don’t know exactly)
There is no heater, (apparently that’s okay for these fish?)
There is a bunch of stuff to change the filter
I don’t have a second tank, nor do I have a second filter
I do have one of the tubes to vacuum the tank

HELP. what do I do to clean it?!!?!?!?!

*this was not my tank. someone in my household, has decided it is now my responsibility or my mom is just going to get rid of it. I would really like to get these fish through it, as there is no need, and some of them are beautiful& have ridiculous personalities that I adore.*
I am looking carefully at the filter, and the water level is only at half the tank, meaning its barely spitting out water.

Should I add water(with PH) to the tank to keep it running?
uhm, I keep getting a lot of comments about changing the water, but there is literally less then half the water in the tank.

also : apparently the tank is 25 gallons.

I cleaned out my fish tank completely, how long should i wait to put my betta back in?

So when i woke up i saw my betta with a huge chunk of his back fin gone. So i thought fin rot, and since i cant go to the store i thought i would just clean the tank out completely, to get rid of the bacteria. And after i dumped out all the water in my 5.5 gallon tank. I realized it probably isnt fin rot, he probably bit his own fin. And well now my tank is filled back up, but i used tap water (that way i can have it at 78 degrees or else it takes forever to get there with my heater, its a good heater at getting it at a certain temp and keeping it there but its the getting it there is the hard part) And i put in the stuff that gets rid of the chlorine in the water and all the other bad stuff in the water out. But how long should i wait to put my betta back in. Right now he is in one of those little cups you get the betta in from the petstore. And i dont want to have to wait like a day or two because the temp in the little cup will decrease by then.

I know i was stupid to clean out all the water but it already happened, so please dont give me any crap about that. Just please answer my question of how long i have to wait to put my betta back in.

If you had a 30 gallon saltwater tank completely empty, how would you set it up?

What kkind of Fish, bedding, plants??? I want to know everything because i just bought a new tank and im looking for ideas.

My fish tank is cloudy even after being completely changed?

I have a ten gallon fish tank, randomly it became cloudy I tried turning off the light completely as well as monitoring more closely how often he was fed. Neither of these reduced the cloudyness so I changed the tank completely. Put in all new water cleaned the tank and put in new filters now its been a little over a week and it is starting to look cloudy again.

Any suggestions as to how to fix this problem or what might be causing it??
