What Kind Of Algae Eater Can Go With A Blood Parrot Cichlid?

I have a smallish tank and cannot have too many fish, but I can manage one more fish. I currently have a blood parrot cichlid who is very aggressive. She has already eaten a Chinese Algae Eater and a Pleco. I would like to have some type of cleaner fish so that I don’t have to rely so heavily on chemicals and constant cleaning. I was thinking about a shrimp or crab to clean up the uneaten food which would improve water quality and a snail to work on the algea. I’m just looking for some imput as to what is actually going to be able to survive with my aggressive fish. Thanks!

Decoration Idea For 30 Gallon Cichlid Fish Tank?

I have a 30 gallon aquarium with 9 African cichlids, I know the tank is overcrowded, but this was for a friend of mine who passed a way, so I don’t wanna get rid of any of them (or the aquarium). I made a DIY background, and they seem to love it. However, it’s falling apart and needs to be changed. Do you know what type of decoration I can use? I searched the internet and found some nice Artificial Coral Reefs and Cichlids’ Stones. Would any of these offers the 9 cichlids places to hid and make the 30 Gallon look good?

My recent Setup. Mostly mbunas with a couple odd balls. Running two power filters and a fluval fx5 canister. Flow is great, fish are extremely happy. Rock was bought at petsmart. Fake but functional. New Cichlid Tank, 2 Questions?

Just got a 29 gallon aquarium, and have a filter for tanks up to 45 gallons so its well filtered, the filter is one size larger than needed. i have collected and boiled rocks from my neighbors ditch, they are smooths, and stacked them about 24 inches across the tank and they come to a point about 9 inches high, with four caves and 2 smaller ones up top. it has a bubble wall too.
-how many cichlids can i get? i was thinking 2 yellow labs, 3 zebra striped ones, and maybe one orange one, i dont know the kind but its mildly agressive like the rest. all malawi, and will grow to be about 4 or 5 inches. or should i only settle with 5? help me stock it.

Whats A Good Cichlid??

im gonna get either a 20 gallon or 29 gallon aquarium soon with lots of hiding places and a filter, heater, and light, but i dont know what type of cichlid to get. im want to get three or four, and it would be two boys and two girls.they would also have to all get along and fit well in a 20 gallon or 29 gallon. any ideas/

Hi lol i answered ur question about ur cichild question b4 ;p No it doesnt really clean the gravel, so dont think thats a chance 2 escape cleaning it :p lol you still have 2 clean the gravel regularly no matter wat bcuz everything falls down 2 the bottom (even though the filter picks up the most of it) :)

Sick Jaguar Cichlid Please Help?

Ok so I bought a jaguar cichlid about 7 inches from a guy a couple weeks ago. im 99% sure its a female. but anyways I had him in an 80 gallon tank and I thought it was the stress of the car ride that made her not want to eat. It came up to the pellets and it would spit it out which worried me right off the start. there was smaller cichlids in the tank and the jag was beating up on it so i needed to move it to a temp. 44 gallon tank for about a week and she was doing great but I think it has/had a parisite in it because it would shake, but I had about 30 baby convicts and they shortly dissapeared but when I changed him to another 80 gallon tank I moved this rock on the flat serface and there they all were. she might have eaten 5 of them. I have it in the same tank as a red devil but they are seperated by dividers. and i have about 30 feeder fish in there and I watch her and she puts it in her mouth and then spits it out. the red devil destroys them.. I got some meds today to see if that helped. she just sits on the bottom and moves though but not as much as before. the tummy is skinny to..
