Problems Catching A Fish?

Day 5 of trying to catch a royal gramma and still nothing.
Has anyone have any suggestions when it comes to catching a right pain of a fish?
I’ve tried the bottle technique pleanty of times, this is the first time it has not worked. I’ve tried using a bag with bait, the bottle with bait, catching at night with all the lights out, trying to get him into a rock and removing it. everything.
Tank is 100gallon SPS reef.
Some of my other fish are starting to look very sickly, all I’m doing at this point is stressing the fish out.
I havn’t fed the tank in 5 days which may be another reason for the blenny and firefish not looking the best. The regal is sick because I’m moving traps in and out, and the gramma keeps going for him.
The gramma is seriously not looking well, he just floats there on his side gasping, yet all attempts in catching him just are not working and all it’s doing is stressing him out more. All other fish are out and about bar the gramma.
I really do not want to dismantle the tank, all it would do is stress out the regal tang more, possibly to death, and I honestly don’t want to do that.
So has anyone have any idea to get this bloody fish out my tank?
My uncle did suggets a piece of food tied to a string, anyone else tried this? would it work?

Methods For Catching Shrimp In Planted Aquarium.?

I have ich in one of my 2 tanks that was introduces by using the same nets. GRRRR, anyway, the tank that has ich has had ich for about 2 months. I tried trating the indavidual fish in a QT (second tank) and it was working grat, no fish died, ich reduced amazingly, however now i’m having trouble getting rid of the last few spots and ‘ve just decided to do it the old way–forget the QT and medicat the whole tank. However the tanks had RCS and i don’t want to kill them, i wan to move them all to my QT which is nolonger being medicated and is cycled. This way i don’t kill my shrimp and my tank is ich free and back to normal. However, idk how to catch the shrimp, i’m sure i can get a good amount of them with just a net, however, my tank is planted and i’m sure i won’t get nearly all of them that way
what other ways do you guys recomend. any ways that won’t stress fish and/or capture them too.
they are RCS (red cherry shrimp) and even though online they’re cheap, i don’t just want to kill them and buy more, that’s not the point.
I’m not expecting to catch them all at once, but over a span of netting and trapping i would like to catch them in a couple of days or so. However, i don’t know how to trap them. I have some ideas, but my ideas will prob catch and stress the fish too.
I also don’t want to tear apart my tank, that’s stressful for the fish and me.
any suggestions will help.

Why do my aquarium lights keep catching fire?

I have a US Perfecto 24″ Fluorescent strip light. The first one literally caught fire. This is my second light and it is producing that smell that indicates that the end is near, and it may also catch fire. I live in the UK, but I have a home that has 110V US outlets. Can anyone give me any reason that this is happening? What can I do to fix it?

I read something about having to invert lights to DC 12 or something? I don’t know.. Any information would be appreciated.
I am using the original bulb the light strip came with. It is a Perfect-A-Strip Safe Aquarium Strip Reflector 24″ this time. It was another brand/model the first time it burned.

Tips for catching my own aqarium fish?

I just got my saltwater tank back up and running. It a 40 gallon and I just recently got it back up and running. I used to catch my own fish with the Clear Tropical fish nets. Well those were lost in the move and I don’t really have the $$$ to spend on some more. Anyway are there any other methods of catching me some nice tropicals without the Clear nets or slurp guns? Can’t i just use a regular tank net. I know it will be next to impossible but has anyone done it?
Karlee………Actually where I live this is a hobby to many people. And its not cruel. Its a vast ocean with trillions upon trillions of fish and I take maybe 3 or 4. They are well taken care of. It’s no different than if you were to have something like a parrot. Do you think birds like being in cages or cooped up when they have the entire world at their disposal??? Give me a break Its a simple question.
My usual method is to snorkle around and sort of trap the fish in his hiding place and he simply swims into the clear net…..(with a little persuasion) Are there any other methods that will not harm the fish.
