Why Doesn’t My Son’s Male Betta Not Blow Bubbles?

My son bought a male betta fish yesterday and his tank was filled with tons of bubbles! But today all the bubbles are gone and he just follows my son around in his tank, like if he sits by it the fish will just follow him and just float on whatever side he sits on. Does this mean he is unhappy? Or sick? Please help thanks.

Air Bubbles On Surface Of The Water In My Betta Fish’s Tank?

I recently got a betta fish at the store and have a decent size fish tank although I do not have a filter for it. I typically feed him about 6 pellets every three days (the tiny bite size ones). I do a 30% water change every three days. The water has gotten reallllly cloudy. I have 3 small plants in there. It is a new aquarium and I was told not to put plants in it for a few months, but the plants look nice and they’re supposed to help rid the tank of ammonia and the nitrates in the water. So i have them in there. Recently I’ve been noticing alott of air bubbles on the surface of the water along with it being cloudy. I didn’t use any solution for the water, it is regular tap water that is drinkable. What are the air bubbles a sign of? What should I do about the cloudiness of the water? Is my aquarium healthy or do i need to make some changes that are cost effective? I don’t have moneyfor a filter or may other things that will defintely help my aquarium flourish. thanks!

There Are Foam Bubbles Forming On The Top Of The Fish Tank?

i have a 100 gallon mixed cichlid tank
the inhabitants are 1 frontosa couple of convicts red jewel cichlids a yellow lab
i had the tank running before for a year With e same fish my substrate was standard fish store gravel
i then decided to paint the tank black from the back With spray paint making sure that the front was covered very well taking great care, i spray painted the tank and kept it outside for 2 weeks to let it dry. during that time there was a rainstorm and the tank was outside it got a little wet but i washed the inside and put it in the shed then i set up then i filled up the tank waited for half an hour and the tank did not leak, so i thought that black paint had not penetrated the seams (its a plexi) and the tank had not mixed with the polyurethane varnish that i painted on the stand (there were no cracks )
. i was looking for a good substrate and i looked through a couple of forums and i found out that it was ok to use play sand for a fish tank substrate but u could definitely not plant in it .i filled it up set up the heater and filled it up with water from the hose and turned on my used canister filter i washed it just a lil bit washing only 2 of the 4 filter pads and lightly rinsing the bio balls cleaned the piped and errthang all that good stuff. let it cycle for a week and was checking the ph doing very small water changes during the cycle and added a coup;e of fish food flakes and checked the ammonia then i add four juvenile convict cichlids later in the after noon i added 2 red jewel cichlids
then i add a yellow lad the next day then i added a frontosa in the after noon all fish seemed to love it. now the tank had been running for a few weeks and the tank looked fine, i woke up the next morning to find that there was a thin line of foam bubbles all along the inside perimeter of the tank white in color i did a 40 percent water change and vacuumed the play sand around the top layer and moved a metal stick around inside the tank to take out the trapped bubbles, and after a while the bubbles came back up again. just as before idon’tt know what i did wrong ?
i also have not cleaned the filter in a long time
any help would be appreciated !!

I just recently got four “fancy guppies” and they all hang around in the bubbles near the filter. Why is that

Question by Dolphinlover: I just recently got four “fancy guppies” and they all hang around in the bubbles near the filter. Why is that
Like I said, the fish either hang around the bubbles or hang around in a group close to the top of the tank. Also, they keep on running into the side of the tank. Please help me!!!

As long as they are moving well and you have provided a good environment, I wouldn’t worry.

I have one female G who is “adventurous” and loves to try to swim upstream to the filter outlet. She seems to be having a blast..

Why is my small aquarium making so many bubbles from it’s undergravel filter? Help!!?

Question by Greg Martinetti: Why is my small aquarium making so many bubbles from it’s undergravel filter? Help!!?
I have a Petco 2 gallon hexagon mini aquarium. I have an undergravel filter and a small air pump that came with the aquarium and 3 guppies inside it that have been living there for almost 2 days now. There are a lot of bubbles coming from the undergravel filter (which i think is normal), but they don’t pop for a while and it gets to the point eventually where the entire surface is covered in a layer of bubbles. I don’t think that this is good for the fish as they are frequently swimming around at the top at the surface. However, wherever there are bubbles at the surface, they won’t swim there. Is this a big problem for the fish, or does it not matter? I can’t be with the fish tank 24/7 to clear the bubbles off the surface, so if it is a problem i’ve got to know why it’s happening and how to fix it. I’ve looked all over online, and can’t find situations similar to mine that have happened. Please help!
